@@CJ1949 there was no malayalam language untill 16th century people used to speak tamil only there.. so whatever excavations are found dating back older than16th centuary belongs to tamil culture not Malayali... in early stages even malayalam was considered a different dialect of the tamil language before it got official recognition as a seperate language after some time period of 16th centuary.. and malayalam is tamil word meaning malai (mountain) aalam (region) and people who lived there were referred to as malaiyalar by ancient tamils refer old tamil literatures or malayalam etymology in wikipedia.. nothing found in kerala or constructed in kerala dating back older than 16th century belongs to malayalis.. it belongs to tamil culture... and we tamil people consider malayalis also as part of our tamil culture only because the festivals u celebrate on athukal bagavathi amman temple is none other than kannaki in ancient tamil literature silapathikaram written in 110AD.. Kathakali evolved from bharaths one of the forms and kalaripayathu evolved from varmakalai (adhimurai).. Both tamil nadu kerala belonged to single country and always referred to as Tamilkam.. At some point cheras were defeted by cholas and kerala became a part of chola empire and after some point when there was internal conflict in cholas a lot of small cheiftains rebelled and cholas didnt care since they had a lot of problems to deal with and getting to kerala through mountains region was difficult and was not worth the effort.. after british came when most of the indian kings were fighting against them and got their lands occupied and exploited by british todays kerala state kings surrendered and became bootlickers of british to maintain their sovernity and keep their richs from being looted thats why kerala was a seperate travancore state during british rule.. during that time period the cheiftains in kerala used the isolation to spread malayalam more thats how it became the dominent language in kerala today before british malayalam language was there but it was not a dominant language at all.. we consider and respect malayalis as part of our tamil culture but if u people talk bunch of bs crap like stuff belongs to malayalis even before malayalam language was founded then u dont deserve our respect at all..

Cheras, cholas and pandyas were together called as tamil kings and their regions combined together were called as Tamilkam since in ancient times (todays tamil nadu and kerala and notheren and easter parts of sri lanka ) .. malayalam language originated only in 16th century.. and even then it was not the dominant language in west coast region until british came to india during british rule only malayalam became dominant language in these parts.. so yeah until then it was tamilakam.. i know they hide all these truths in kerala schools but it wont hurt u to learn about ur own language and state history online..

Its a proud movement for all Indians to say when the world was not known how to do agriculture here is a civilization which knows how to melt iron using 1200°C and add carbon in it...
