build up to the interval was amazing. Kept us to the edge of the seat. one scene towards the climax was kamal asking santana barathi regarding the guns. All the three superstars (kamal, vijay sethupathy and fahadf fasil) were fabulous. Overall the movie was very fast paced action. Final entry of rolex(suriya) was good. setting for a good sequel to come..

True review of the movie Vikram below.. Vikram 2022 is a feature film brought to life by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Written+Directed by Lokesh, produced by Raaj Kamal films, the movie stars Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi & Fahadh Faasil in lead roles while Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, Chemban Vinod Jose, Santhana Bharathi, Gayathrie, Elango Kumaravel, Marimuthu, Arul Doss, Gowthem Sundarrajan & Ramesh tilak play able supporting roles. Actor Suriya has played a cameo as well. The music and background score is by Anirudh Ravichander. It is widely known/ accepted that the current breed of directors in Tamil cinema are inspired heavily by stalwarts of Tamil cinema of the 80’s & 90’s. The impact and impression certain cult classics of the yesteryear have created is so huge that the scripts of the current year get elevated to a whole new level with just references to characters, frames, dialogues, recreated themes & even properties used. REHASH & RECREATION are inevitable. But what would stand the test of times are well scripted, well made & well executed classics like Vikram (2022). The movie stands out in the way the script has been handled- with utmost precision. Lokesh Kanagaraj has given an out and out action entertainer with fun elements mixed in the right proportion. He has also managed to create a base for a movie universe with specific references to characters from the script to branchout as separate movies/ spinoffs. The movie starts of as a ‘heist, confiscation and hunt’ tale which seems like a Drug mafia/ Underworld vs Police where we get to see snippets of discussions, investigation, chases & gun shots one after the other until we are introduced to the world of Sandhanam played effortlessly by Vijay Sethupathi. Menacing & dark, Vijay Sethupathi has brought Sandhanam to life with his stellar performance. There is so much layering he applies to every character he plays that we as audience can only identify and resonate with his persona on screen. Another fine actor who starts off hitting the ground running is Fahadh Faasil with menacing looks and perfectly fits the role of a undercover cop. This performance of his as Amar the unrelenting and volatile cop will get recorded as one of the best performances in Indian cinema. I don’t remember the last time I saw a Tamil movie where the primary protagonist has very little screentime till the interval. Though he is shown when the movie begins dancing to a usual Kamal kuthu number & flashes past in some scenes, the presence of the Actor Kamal Haasan is not felt until the thunderous interval block. It is Fahadh and Vijay Sethupathi that steal the limelight in the first half with Vijay Sethupathi getting a heroic introduction. The second half is a RIOT with goose bump moments doled out one after the other with Kamal Haasan in full form as Agent Vikram. The screenplay has been neatly woven and presented with a lot of conviction. The experiment with references & engagement works largely due to the background score- Anirudh deserves a pat on his back for the themes ‘naayagan meendum varan’ & ‘once upon a time’. The way the background score has been conceptualized and designed compliments the screenplay so well that it is refreshing. The variety in background score is definitely a plus for the film. Giving out hints from the second half would act as spoilers for first time audience and hence I reserve my comments for a later day. Overall, the writing, performances, background score & stunts hold the film high for most parts while the cinematography makes the experience better! The movie is proof to the fact that WE are no less compared to Hollywood or any other cinematic universes created elsewhere around the globe. Vikram engages well and creates a ‘ONCE MORE’ request deep down….

The reason VFX is poor in most of Indian movies is that directors keep those scenes for later and don't really give too much attention to it during post-production. They just let the VFX team know what they want them to do and don't really give feedback and take time to perfect it. Also because its done at the end, mostly the movie release time is getting closer so due to lack of time they just accept what they got from the VFX team.

Over hyped movie. Second half only fight after fight. Tone down your expectations. Vijay Sethupathi is as expected a gangster. Fahad Fasil is on the chase to connect the murders. That's where Kamal comes in. He is the same agent from Vikram 1986 along with some other folks. Watch for the performance by the maid of Kamal's house. She is an agent too. First half is quite engaging. Kamal Hassan reveal as the masked murderer and faking his own death is the mass. Second half no story at all. Only connects with Kaidhi. Only long fight scenes. Surya plays the same role as what Dhanush did in Vai Raaja Vai.

Interval bang nd climax r very good. Watched Night show nd it was housefull all over in Bangalore. Good comeback by Ulaga Nayakan, Nata Thilakam Kamal Sir 🙏 Waiting for next part ⏳ Viewers should watch Kamal's old Vikram nd Karthi's Kaidhi to understand this sequal 😉

The scene Suriya comes in picture is vera Level. Be his acting or expression or his dressing skills. Suriya's scene has no value add to the movie but it does open up pandora's box for a greater cinematic universe of Lokesh's film making. My personal & only gripe about this scene is: It should have been kept after credits as a post credit scene like MCU movies (serves two purposes: 1. keeps viewers glued to seat , 2nd: setup as a precursor for next movie if he plans to broaden the universe There are certainly references to *Kaithi Tamil movie* in this and you better watch that movie before you watch Vikram to understand Lokesh's filmmaking. Of course there's a connection to Kamal's main character named Vikram as a montage which is nicely done in this movie. Anirudh has yet again proved that his music & BGM is top notch and goes with the movie flow without disrupting it Banger of a movie
