Man I am thisclose to pulling the trigger on this one. As a long time Tamiya RC builder of 1/16 tanks (remote and static), this kit really gets my juices flowing! Must exercise self control.

It's looking good Bob, that actuator is made to usual high Tamiya standards & all goes together well. 👍

Yes! The stuff is expensive but the quality is apparent!

Hi bob i watched the whole building of this truck. And you do a good job and make it looks easy. I am using only the complete chassis and cab. I am building a heavy haulage truck with a dolly and a fury bear 2+5 lowloader with steering axles. Could not afford a scale models tractor with 4 axle and this will do well and i prefer the double steering frontaxle on this volvo. Keep on building.

Hi Bob Just a comment the 'plate' bearing is also known as a thrust bearing and the clutch is known as a sprag clutch in the engineering world Enjoying the build!

Is the top winch wound the right way? Looks like it should feed from the bottom

Hi Bob Can I ask, in your humble opinion do you think that it would be possible to convert this cab only from the Volvo to one of the R series Scania bodies from one of the Tamiya scania trucks. If you think that it would be simple or difficult with a lot of scratch building etc I would really appreciate your in put. Keep up the great videos they are really informative and useful 👍

It will take some work to modify but I don't think a horrible amount. Would sure look good when finished!

I noticed the second steer axle wheels look to be turned more than the front axle . Should be the other way around correct?

Do you ever have your tires slip on the rim from the way you glue them?
@HobbyconceptsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Never have had them slip or come off, but remember this is a semi truck not a basher or crawler so not near as much asked from the tires.

Any chance that Tamiya will be making a RC version of the Tesla Semi?

I would say Tesla should build it first :-)

@@HobbyconceptsLLC wow, small world considering how tiny bowen is. We've done painting for lots of folks out there. You outta Washington? Helluva build btw

Hi Bob, do you know if you can use the actuator set without an mfc 03?
@HobbyconceptsLLC Жыл бұрын
You can. Just plugs in like a servo.

I'm curious if a Actuonix actuator would be a cheaper alternative to the Tamiya actuator for this build?
@HobbyconceptsLLC4 жыл бұрын
Looks like lots of easy ways to do it without the Tamiya actuator but wanted to use the Tamiya unit for this build. certainly can't fault the quality the thing is beautiful!
@pnwRC.4 жыл бұрын
@@HobbyconceptsLLC agreed
@markcarr16054 жыл бұрын
Definitely cheaper. But the oversized holes tamiya used for there actuator would require reworking.
