Awesome job retro fitting that Tiger static to Tiger motorized. It is fun and mesmerizing to see a model drive by itself. You have me interested in digging out an old build. I made an old Nichimo kit of a Hummel self propelled artillery vehicle. It comes motorized, but I quit the build due to its toylike finish. Maybe I'll revisit it after all. Thanks for the inspiration, David. Happy modeling my friend. Bill

Dear David, This is an interesting call- back to my youth! I recall that, now and again, one came across a motorised kit and they were quite exciting for that. I remember that the gearboxes and motors came pre-assembled and were simply dropped in. The result was rather good excepting the slight lowering in the position of the sprocket wheel, but I think that's a minor consideration in the grand scheme of things! Regards, Z

hey i want to make the fury Italeri set a rc but i dont know hwat motor to get ive seen videos of it but i just dont know what motor to get if you could help me
@davidchin35020 күн бұрын
@@Themodking63637 you will need a twin motor set up to be able to turn with the RC. The challenge is the tight space the Sherman has at the front drive sprocket. I built a motorized Tamiya Sherman but it came with the custom drive box. Check out my RC Jagdtiger and Sharman video and you'll know what I mean. Good Luck.

@Themodking6363720 күн бұрын
@@davidchin350 one more question what motor did you use like where did you get it for the sherman?
@davidchin35020 күн бұрын
@Themodking63637 the Sherman came with the motor and gearbox since I bought a motorized kit from Tamiya. Tamiya still makes a motorized Sherman and Panther tank but it's not the Fury with the HVSS. it's a single motor so no turning. You may have to scratch build or seek elsewhere for a gearbox with final drive to fit your kit. In retro fitting my past tank builds I buy the Tamiya motor with gearboxes to simplify matters but there are size limitations. Maybe you should try motorizing one with no RC unit to get a grasp of the process??
@Themodking6363719 күн бұрын
@ alright ill just buy the sherman and take the componests and put it into the fury
@DreamBigBuildSmallАй бұрын
That's so cool. How do I know if my kit is able to be motorized?
@davidchin350Ай бұрын
Hi Cory, I choose early Tamiya tank releases since many were motorized at one time. The current M41 Walker Bulldog tank at Hobby Lobby is a good choice to motorize if its your first time with a Tamiya Universal motor gearbox. I look for the soft rubber band tracks, poly caps for the road, idler and drive wheels and the hex fitment on the back of the drive sprocket wheel. Once you motorize one you'll know the basics in choosing your future kits to motorize. The trick is fitting the hex nut over the metal axle and into the drive sprocket wheel to handle the torque from the motor. Let me know if you have any questions.😊

this is a nice tank, but i wonder if it is possible for me to retrofit the tamiya m1a1 with this gearbox
@davidchin3508 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. You should be able to retrofit the same motor into the Abrams. Watch my RC motorized Abrams video and your kit should be the same less the motors and gears. Tamiya drive sprocket wheels should have the 6 sided nut fitment and just scratch build the nut onto the axle like I did to handle the torque. You should have room since Abrams drive is in the rear and engine compartment seems big and square. Good luck with your project.
