These trucks deserve more love. They are good little trucks. Sure they aren't as capable as a TRX4 but who likes a truck that crawls too easy. I also relocated my battery to that location, but made a little custom plate that bolts to the chassis. And I replaced the plastic links with some GPM steel links. Gonna try and make a skidplate too, good idea!

Hi Steve, thank you for showing us some great modifications to the CC-02 chassis to make the RC for drivable over rougher terrain. Take care and best wishes 😉😊😉🇬🇧

Yeah, man, this video is great! Keep them coming, ha ha! This info is of great use for me, I am in the process of collecting parts for a CC-02 build, will also be a Beetle. I'll be getting aftermarket stainless links, so no grinding needed for that part. The battery hack, genius, I will be doing same thing, thanks for that tip! Same with the skidplate, great idea, I think I have some stainless lying around, thin enough for bending but should be rigid enough for this. Lastly (for now), what's all that stuff in the front good for? Everything in front of the rear front shock towers, I don't need that stuff... Why did Tamiya put it there? Yeah, for scale stuff and bumpers, but as I see it, it's not really needed...
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
Hi thank you, the front part was used for the mog body I did not notice and drilled the body holes to fit the bug on but later on found you can take the front shock mounts off and mount the body to the ones behind them... they are not needed the ones on the front.

Nice mods, that's the trouble with gearing finding the right motor. I used the element chassis and like the CC-02 very low geared.

Steve nevermind was wondering if the mf-01x Beetle body would fit on that I seen on KZbin and we were away and cruisers and you put the different Beetle body on their thanks
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
Hi I don't think so that body is to small this needs the 1/10 scale size like the sand scorcher style. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the great video I’m considering buying a cc 02 for a similar build I like your tire and wheel combination what are the sizes of the tire and wheels? Also do you have any knowledge of how difficult or easy it may be to put a CC01 body on a CC02 chassis? Thanks again for the great video
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks, the wheels are normal 1.9 beadlock wheels and the tires I believe are like 4" tall as for the cc01 body you will have to match the wheelbase by moving the links on the truck in the correct location if available to match your wheelbase. Thanks for looking.

No need to grind down the lower links. You can achieve the same results by flipping the lower links upside down. That's what I did on mine before I got JazRider links, which I mounted upside down... What is that front bumper???
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for watching, I did look at the links to put them on flipped but that changed the geometry with the way the holes in the ends are positioned and the way it bends so I left it stock and just ground them flat. The bumper is a cut up and bent tamiya CC-01 bumper.
@terrywatts6742 жыл бұрын
@@ShenRC I didn't experience any change in geometry. Indeed, the arms only connects two points (the ball joints), and so the shape for the arm doesn't matter. The angle does matter, I suppose, depending on the angle of attack of the links, but even at 242mm I found there was no obstructions and the links moved freely. YMMV...
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
@@terrywatts674 Yeah I just liked it when they were straight with no bends so they slide better over stuff.
@terrywatts6742 жыл бұрын
@@ShenRC Understandable! Not quite sure why Tamiya made them like they did. "Its the Tamiya Way..." Thanks for all you do!
@ShenRC2 жыл бұрын
@@terrywatts674 He he he yeah I don't know why tamiya made them like they did your right they do some weird stuff. Thanks very much.
