My first ever Tamiya car in about 1987, after my marui galaxy proved that it could not take the abuse of an 11yo, with constant stripped gears. Great video you have made, I loved the arm coming off, made me laugh so hard, just wasn't expecting that!

Cool you had one back then! I had to wait for my first one until I was in my fourties’ 😂 Ha ha, quite unexpected amputation for me too 😊

One classy buggy, love mine as one of the best Tamiya have produced. Stock so much fun and not too slow 🙂You did not have to disarm him.

I think Tamiya disarmed him with an unexpected lousy glue-job ☺️ Yeah, a real classic.

I bought one of these as a kid in 2012, one of the most fun rc cars I ever owned. I would like to give the wild one a try one day, since it has the oil filled shocks

Yeah! I’m actually also a bit more into the WO. Both because of the suspension but also the aesthetics ☺️

Beautiful presentation of such an iconic buggy, Mikael! I had a friend who had one back in the 80'ies, I remember it seemed so high tech with the aluminium parts! I have an FAV chassis, I have plans to build one with DT-03 parts, but haven't got that project started yet, he he, maybe someday... Have a great weekend there, my friend!

Hi Mads! Yeah quite a different buggy than the Grasshopper from back then. Must definitely have been more expensive. Uhh, an FAV DT-03 hybrid. Didn’t know that was even even possible? Which parts cross-fits? And thank you, hope you’ve had a great weekend too my friend.

Goddag, Mikael! That really is a cool looking buggy and the driver figure is very cool - so much better than the "jelly mould" driver in the Wild One! I think the FAV must be quite a rare Tamiya, you don't often see them for sale. Best wishes as always, mate! 😎👌👍

Hi Mark my good mate. Uhh, yeah, but I think the WO driver will perform better on a drop test. Actually prefer the Jelly Mould that is more durable. I think all FAV drivers in the 80’s ended up armless after a few runs. I see the re-release still available from some shops so not that rare I think.

And best wishes right back! Thanks

Hi Mikael. Oh yeah I'm a fan of the FAV as you know. It is better if you put the Wild One oil dampers on though. Oh the drivers arm would always fall off. Don't know if you saw a video I did of this a few years back where I show how I keep the arms on the driver. Basically I used a resin filler in the arms and then drilled through from the inside and screwed them on. I think that Tamiya could have made them attach with more than just glue but you know what they're like. Anyway I liked the melancholy music on this. Hope you are having a good Sunday mate. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍👍

Hi Pete! Yeah, I remember our talks about the FAV. Not a big fan myself. I mean, it sure got something special going on ... but well ... maybe it's the camouflage and the machine gun that puts me off ... took several years for me to finally unbox it. Several years later now I still haven't run it. And thank you very much for the tip! If I ever fell a urge to run that arm attachment will sure be handy. Seen so many second hand coming up for sale without arms :-) And yes. That glue thing ... very Tamiyaïsh :-) Best wishes to you my good friend Pete.

The poor driver was looking worried at the beginning. He must have known the drop test was coming.
