Are the oil dampers really necessary
@tm51232 жыл бұрын
@@malm4640 Well depends, if you just drive it in yard or a parking lot, doesnt really have to have oil dampers. If you start going to tracks etc, or just want a better ride, the oil shocks start to be quite a important upgrade.
@taimaishu-nao19222 жыл бұрын
@@malm4640 I’d recommend them. Are they truly necessary? No. But you won’t get the truest feel for the chassis unless you use oil dampers. However… there is a guy from Korea that modded the kit standard friction shocks using a body o-ring and friction shock grease from the F103 and it works great though it’s not quite the same as using an oil damper. Believe me, I felt the same way and thought I couldn’t justify the cost of the Tamiya CVA shocks until I caved and bought a set. The performance difference is night and day but to each their own.
@malm46402 жыл бұрын

If the cardboard of the box cover isn't torn - damaged, use a hair drier low setting to heat the area where the sticker remains, then it should once warm - hot, make it easier to remove n peel the remains of the sticker.

NICE!!! That was my first car I bought and… now my chassis is a BEAST! The body masking is a nightmare though. Keep in mind the body does have precut arches but the holes need to be reamed. Another thing is that you should hand paint the PS-5 because masking it up to paint JUST the black details like the splitter and side skirts is redundant and while the manual doesn’t say to do it, you really should mask the taillight panel in the middle because it just looks better in black. Lastly, Tamiya is releasing a pre-painted version of this body set in Corsa Grey. Not sure why when the actual concept car and the box art models all show PS-23 Gunmetal… Wish my body wasn’t thrashed because that gunmetal just looks amazing!

I got this kit a couple years ago when it was first released and did it in full boxart. My first TT-02 as I recall. Anyway, I really enjoy the car. Regarding the ESC mystery, I've noticed this myself with kits I've recently purchased and I think what you have is from a very recent production run of a kit that was first released years ago. So perhaps your kit isn't actually from original stock. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the finished car. Cheers.

Hey Glenn! Can I suggest using magnets instead of drilling holes? Does it came with oil shocks or springs like in Europe? My educated guess on the fact it's a TBLE04S: the pandemic didn't allow to find all components to build enough due to chip shortages. Hence fitting a TBLE02S in the Top Force Evo of the GT1 for example.
