Thank you! So far this seems to be the best method I’ve found to get clean lines.

Hi Freddy, some great tips, especially the finger knife, I like that idea of better control over the blade with the full lock from the index finger through the body of the tool. 😊😊

Agreed! It makes a HUGE difference. With the standard exacto knife, after cutting myself after it slipped, I wasn't too keen on putting too much pressure on the blade again for fear of it slipping. But with this item it really makes a difference because it keeps the blade in your full control and even if it slips, you slip with it so you don't cut yourself. :)

Hello Sir Im gonna ask you something. I Just bought a new hornet for Christmas, The Lexan/Polycarbonate body is a bit dirty and dusty but already cutted, As It Says In The Manual That You Need to wash it using detergent and rinse it but the only problem is, Will The Protective film still stay while being washed or it will ruin it?
@MarshollMallow Жыл бұрын
Do you need to wash it first before cutting it? Anyways I'm Just New From Tamiya.

Morning! Great question. So the plastic film is only on the outside of the body. So when they say you need to wash the body they really are only talking about washing the inside. So when you wash the inside of the body just be careful not to scrub too close to the edges or you could start to peel off the protective layer. In fact when washing the body it’s best to use something that isn’t abrasive (a soft detergent and a soft cloth), as like you say with it being a bit dusty etc. the only reason for washing the body is to make sure you get all of that dust so that it doesn’t cause you to see spots and bumps in the paint work. So long story short, if you give the inside a quick soft wash you won’t do any damage to the outer protective film.

@@MarshollMallow oh and you can wash it before or after but if you do it before it will be easier and less likely that the plastic film will peel off.

Wow, I need this tool. Do I giess right, it has the same blades as the long version?

I love this tool! Are you asking if it comes with more blades? If so it only comes with the one blade you see but it can be changed.

I did a terrible job of the cut out first time, but fortunately replacement bodies are readily available.

Glad you were able to find another. They do take a bit of time to hone your skills cutting them out...it looks easy but you really end up having to be careful not to put too much pressure during the cut in case it slips and you cut too much of the body (speaking from experience :)) Glad you were able to get it sorted out!
