I did these front links and also made rear links that ran from the knuckle to the upper rear arm mount on the diff, made such a big difference and with some homemade tie-rods gives adjustable alignment in every direction
@Dunky19943 жыл бұрын
If you use 0.3mm shims with 5mm ID on the upper plastic arms where it fits to the gearbox cover and 0.1mm shims on the lower arms it removes the slop from that point. The shims only need to fitted to one side and mirrored for the rear. Ive raced at a meeting twice now and it has made such a difference. They will also fit on a TT-01. Core-RC make a set.

With the 0.1mm shims for the lower arms do you no the inner diameter hole? I have all yeah racing bits and find the slop is quite bad on the rear

Great job. Looks great as well. Some part numbers would be helpful for the newbies like myself 😃 I ordered the 5x8x0.1 and 5x8x0.3mm shims as a first step, lets improve 😃

This is a much needed mod on ta01 and ta02 chassis. Interestingly this is kinda what you call a compression strutt. I have them on my actual mk2 escort and they replace the anti roll bar.
@darrenbayman898811 ай бұрын
Actually in this orientation, as with your Escort they are tension struts. Compression struts would run from the suspension arm rearward to the chassis. They work wonders on Escorts, as you are no doubt aware. You can also lower the front attachment point slightly and gain an element of anti dive.

Move your front shocks to the upper position for better turn in 😊
@red7fifty22 күн бұрын
FYI, upsidedown shocks are not valved correctly for inverted use. If you have any air bubble, the shock piston will be in air pocket instead of oil, making the first part of travel useless. Also, it adds unsprung weight to the suspension, making it again less effective.

These front links only hold the front arms firmly at certain angle. If the front arms lowered a bit, the clearance becomes larger and the links dont fix tightly anymore
