I used to go to the local golf at 4am in the summer to run cars. Only golfers I'd see at that time were the ones who bunked on. Though it came to an end when the grounds man chased me off one time. Funny, but kind of embarrassing for a man in his 40's

They are very territorial over the courses, and the cars, especially Tamiya ones would not really do that much harm. A waste of great land really 🤔👍

Ah yes that bit of grass you found was far from a bowling green but your Monster Beetle did well. Hey going back to the discussion about the Ford Escort on a MF-01X, it must fit as they sell it as a kit with that body. Mark Bryan did a build series on this so you should be able to see how the body posts work with it. Don't know if you get those posts with the Beetle kit. Anyway good stuff chaps. Best wishes 😁👍👍

It’s amazing the range Hot Wheels has. I met the president of the Florida Hot Wheels society when I was on holiday. Gave my lad a free model 👍

Fun little bash guys! In all fairness the Monster Beetle actually drives quite well on that sort of terrain, especially when fitted with better shocks, the stock cva's are useless on the re release. It has pretty nimble and responsive steering similar to a buggy, despite the huge amount of steering slop it has (high torque servo saver helps a little here) It can potentially drive well on tarmac as well, but that requires a tyre change and softer shock springs/oil. Superstock RZ or BZ gives it a nice bit of pep and adds to the fun factor immensely.... although the flawed gearbox design isn't a fan of the extra power and ideally requires an MIP ball diff, which is bombproof! The spikes grip too much on tarmac, combine that with its high center of gravity and it ends up having many characteristics of the lunchbox! 😂 (spends a lot of time on its roof) Lunchbox wheels and tyres work better on this model for tarmac runs, although you do need to fit spacers on the front wheels to get the correct clearance. I enjoy driving the monster beetle /blackfoot /mud blaster just as much as the lunchbox and pumpkin...... The difference being, you have to invest heavily on upgrading the beetle, where as you can have fun straight out the box with a totally stock lunchbox! But hey, that's why it's nice to have multiple cars..... It would be boring if they all drove the same! My other hobby is golf I'm afraid, come to think of it, I drive a Beema to..... but it would make my day if I saw you and the chief turn up on the fairway with a bunch of rc cars just as I was about to tee off! 😂 I'd probably dump my clubs and grab an rc out of the boot and come and join in! 😂 👍 👍 👍

I does seem that the Monster Beetle is like one of those Rustlers Microwave Burgers, when you open the box you technically get a burger, but if you want it to be a bit more substantial you have to add stuff to it. In fairness this Beetle is running the best it has since we got it, and it was a replacement for the Blackfoot we had as that was old and brittle. I did think about getting a golf bag, filling it with cars and then try and put some socks on the top of kitchen roll tubs, to stick out the end of the bag to look like clubs, but I don’t think I have any trousers jazzy enough to get away with it 🤣😂⛳️

It did ok on the rough grass are you running it on a standard Mabuchi 540 I’ve got a black monster beetle and lunchbox to build this summer they look fun

I think this is running the Torque Tuned to be fair, I would say that this is an ideal step up from the standard silver can, I know we put Torque Tuned in our Lunchboxes also! I bet you can’t wait for the summer now, you will have a blast! 👍

@@RCsoandso I have not been able to touch any of my Rc’s for a year all in storage whilst our house was being renovated for my wheelchair. I have got 3 nib and some other cars that will need tinkering with sooo looking forward to getting them out keep up the good work loving the videos 😊👍🏼
