I'm so impressed by your videos with historic remote-controlled cars! It's amazing to see these cars in action because you usually only see them in pictures and in display cases. You really make it possible to bring these cars back to life. I also find it very impressive how you restore the cars and get them running again. You really have a passion for these cars and you can see that in your videos. I'm really looking forward to more videos from you and hope that you can find and restore many more historic cars. Thank you very much for your great videos!

Wonderful Nanni. Nice to see the tire prints in the dirt and even nicer to see the dirt spraying out the back as it took off. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

So nice to see the old XR311 running. I still have mine that I purchased when it was originally released. I replaced the torsion bars with adjustable coil springs on new mounting brackets (but there were no shock absorbers back then) and ran it on six NiCad cells via a home built electronic speed controller. It rode so much better than the torsion bars of my fathers Cheetah, was a lot faster and far more controllable, but tore up its tyres very quickly. I also replaced the stock steering servo protector with one I machined from brass and alluminium which made the steering more precise. Sadly it's a non runner now but occasionally comes out as a "shelf queen" conversation piece. Seeing one running makes me think that I should try to get mine back on the road.

Nice story and good mods... I like the "shelf queen"! Great for you to have your own original. Thanks for this nice comment. Ciao!

Back in the early 80's..... by week two after Christmas most torsion bars where broken on these :) Super iconic this one, along with the Cheetah.

Very cool to see it out running around. I actually got my kit down out of the garage and brought it in to finally get it built. I think I got it two years ago and I have been dragging my feet to build it. I think I have been avoiding it due to all the body assembly needed, I am not sure. Now seeing it drive I feel more motivated to get mine built and running. It is a special kit and I have been waiting until it felt like the right time to do it. I think that time is very near! Yours looked fantastic out there and it seemed to handle very well.

Are you telling me that? I waited more than 30 years!!!! 🤣🤣🤣The body has to be built as a static plastic model the feeling is the same. Ciao!!

Hey Nanni such a beautiful example of a vintage XR311. Not sure I would rely on the compression fit of the motor wires though. Might get some high resistance on those joints and perhaps a bit more heat, could try and solder the mating pair of bullet connectors to the wires, so that you can join them better 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😉😎😉

Later I bought Tamiya motor connectors, I was out of stock, but as I'm lazy it remained connected in that terrible, but nicely working, way. Ciao John all the bests to you all!!
