ALL THE WORLD loves a Clodbuster!!! Hey old Mate.... I've had my custom Clodbuster about 75% done, for over a year!! 😖😭😭 Two 25kg Servos, one on each axle, with bits I 3D printed... super grippy Tyres, modified suspension and shocks, modified centre chassis (for lots of wheel travel... And a few other Thingys... I forgot about!! 😜 But YOURS does something that mine doesn't... RUN!!!!! 😭😭😭 Hopefully, January I can get back to work. Been bored, miserable, lonely, and angry at myself... And my mooch of a stepdaughter - who's finally moving out next month!! Then my uphill battle for repairing my obliterated reputation begins... At least I can finally get back to RC. Friends or no friends, RC is very therapeutic. Cheers! 🍺🍺

Mark, your doing a great job mate (not that the build is hard). Without the shocks mounted, using pliers to attach the steering rods won't hurt your fingers. Brother, you did the tires the way I do them (sometimes I set the tires by a heat source to warm them up). As for gluing the tires, without glue, dusty, dirty, wet and normal running, over time the dust gets into the bead area and the tires will begin to slip on the wheels (some people use a dab of clear RTV at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock, holds the tires & their removeable), as for glue, its fine, not often does one need to change a tire or wheel and with a stock set-up, one rarely breaks a wheel, if ever. Thanks again for the mention. So many tips & tricks for a Clod (it is @ 35+ years old). GFJ man, loving the build series!!!!!!!! ATB my friend, to one & all.

Oh, yes, very nice, Mark! Of course I will join you for the body work video, it's one of my favourite parts, ha ha! I'm watching these a bit delayed, but they are great for Saturday mornings, too, I assure you! As always on this build, it is interesting to see some different mechanical solutions, so fitting those arms to the chassis was definitely interesting... I'm quite disappointed with Tamiya that they gave you friction shocks on this one, especially given it's a special edition. For 8 shocks, it will be quite expensive to upgrade, but for them it wouldn't have been much more cost, it's about same amount of plastic and metal parts to have supplied CVA's, so maybe it's the cost of the oil that's holding them back... Well, that was just my little rant, ha ha... I hope you're having a great weekend there, my friend! I saw you shot Rob's PubG video, very nice, so perhaps you got a run video also from that sunny day?
@MarkBryanRC Жыл бұрын
Hi there my friend Mads! Thanks for agreeing to join me on the bodywork video, it's going to be box art but at least it's a special version of the Clod! Thanks for the rant, I enjoyed that! Yeah, the Agrios is about the same cost and comes with 8 oil dampers. I just don't get it! I know it's a re-re but they could have updated the shocks and given us bearings, too! Yes I did get a video done on the same day as Rob ran his Pubg. It was that FCX 24 Power Wagon that I think you already watched. Hope your Sunday is good mate, take care!

Shock, horror..... Is that Mr Bryan building Friction shocks?!! 8 Friction shocks at that! 🤣 We will let you off mate, as I'm sure everyone will agree that they add to the bouncy character of the clod! And, just look at the size of those tires! Chassis coming together nicely fella, can't wait to see the first run. Very professional and informative series of build videos mate, this is how the 'experts' do a build video. Unfortunately,since completing his grasshopper, Taylor has decided he now wants to build a clod! 😬 There's no way I can handle doing another build with him, its put years on me...... So, I've nominated you to come and work with him on that one.... I'm quite happy to swap him for Rob! 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 Jokes aside, would be great to see you and Rob double clodding in that woodland setting from your last video once you have the body completed! Never get tired of watching clods in action on KZbin, always so entertaining! 😊 👍 👍 👍 👍

@PeteWylieRC Жыл бұрын
Hiya mate. Wow those tyres looked a challenge. It's a bit mean that you get pogo stick shocks with this one. It's going to be rather bouncy isn't it? One great tip I got from this was to put the tiddly screws in the switch. What I've done before is to put holes in the chassis and run a cable tie over it as well as using the tape. It's annoying that they don't put a bigger plate on the switches like the Tamiya ones. Looks great so far and I look forward to seeing it complete. I guess you need to go with grey paint so it matches the wheels? Great stuff mate. Best wishes 👍
@MarkBryanRC Жыл бұрын
Hello Pete! Yep the biggest rubbers I've ever clapped hands on! I think I pulled a few muscles fitting 'em! You are right about the pogo sticks but I've been told to leave them as apparently it's part of the charm of the Clodbuster. That and the fact that oil shocks make no difference at all! 🤣 Yeah I got fed up of those switches working loose, the tiny screws came with some servo horn accessories I had lying about. I have used the same method as you before, though but though this was a neat solution. Thanks for the thoughts, matey, always a pleasure. Take care, dude! 🙏😉👍

Thanks mark, been following your instructions on the clod right from the beginning. That aerial wire looks short, it was like that on the monster V.W. Too. Suppose it works ok inside the body though? Did you need to glue the tyres on in the end?
@MarkBryanRC7 ай бұрын
Hi John and thanks for the comment! Glad you are following along. Yeah the short antenna is no problem and is designed to operate well due to the very short wavelength. I've had no problems running this without glue in the tyres! 😎👍
@thecontractor365 Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, well that chassis build was a lot less complex than I initially perceived. It all went together rather nicely. I was interested in the ESC as I've never seen a duel motor ESC before, what brand is it and was it provided by the ELF? One thing I detest about Tamiya ESC's is all that programming malarky - it never works for me first time. Constant trial and error. I mean who wants an RC car programmed with no reverse? This one appears to be a straightforward plug and play which for me is much better. Look forward to seeing what your expert hand does with hard shell. Have you sourced a lexan basher shell yet? As always mate, a quality upload...🙂👍🏻🙂👍🏻.
@MarkBryanRC Жыл бұрын
Hello mate, yeah these last steps were quite straightforward, no head scratching as there was in Part 2! A typical Tamiya that goes together beautifully when you read the instructions carefully! The ESC is a Hobbywing THW880 and it's included in the kit. There is a programming issue, though. It comes preset for LiPo. All else is cool, but to change it to NiMh you need a separate programming card, not supplied! Good job Rob bought one! But yes, a real pain indeed. I'm panicking about the body, so easy to mess up the paint! I have an old Proline Chevy truck body that looks like it'll fit, I'm on it, dude! Many thanks as always, have a great week ahead! 🙏😉👍

@@thecontractor365 Yes mate, it's happening quite a lot these days, my Blockhead Wild One came with a Hobbywing ESC too. It's due to the silicone chip shortage, apparently. Tamiya can't get enough chips!!!
