Hi Folks. This is a photo montage of the build of my Tamiya Toyota Bruiser. I got this kit in 2015 and at this time I was still working so it took me a couple of weeks to build as it is quite complex with a lot of metal parts including wheel axles with diffs and a three speed gear box and transfer case. It was also way before I started to post videos on KZbin but because of the complexity I decided to Photograph the steps. So there is a photo of each step from the guide, then the parts required and finally the finished item and I have also added some commentary.
Hope you enjoy!

When I was a kid I wanted a Tamiya Bruiser more than any other RC car in the world! Those metal parts lent it a glamour that nothing else could match...

I know what you mean Del. Well worth the money if you can spare it. For me it was a treat after doing a lot of late night overtime over a couple of weeks. Many thanks and keep safe mate.

@@robbrennanrc Funny to think that, to a 16-year-old, it was utterly out of reach, yet now it´s possible to earn enough to pay for a Bruiser in a few weeks! I hope the overtime wasn´t too taxing/knackering : )

So true mate. Honestly very taxing trying to recover a very, very large SQL database that ultimately failed, but I still got my overtime.

us older guys we are nostalgic about tamiya, but you are absolutely right mate some of them are really ridiculous money? And there is plenty of rtr brands far cheaper and so much better in every way!!! I have all types and brands and I hate to admit that tamiya just don’t compete, but I still love em ??? ATB mate 🙏

Some great photos there, Rob, I'm glad you documented the build, it's great to see this fantastic kit come together. What a bit of engineering it is, it just oozes quality! The finished article is a pleasure to behold, and luckily for me, I know just how rewarding it is to drive! Top job, dude! See you soon... :O)

Cheers matey. It is a great bit of kit especially with the soft crawler tyres fitted, but I think it could really do with an ESC that has a drag break now. Maybe one day. Catch you later mate.

WOW! That is the second most expensive Crawler Truck. 😜 I've debated it... but I'd never end up appreciating it for what it really is. It DESERVES an aficionado like yourself! 😉 ..... As I'm preparing to start Building my new Grand Hauler Semi - thinking it's an Everest Climb of a build.... THEN I look at this, and think BLOODY HELL!!! 😲 Maybe mine isn't as complex as I thought! 😜 Seriously Mate, you presented that like a Museum Restoration. Everything so well placed, precise, clean. That flat impressed me!!! 🍻👋👋👋👋👋👋 Top Work Rob! Take care and be SAFE!!😷

BTW.... Would you know about Mark's whereabouts today? I'm not stalking!! I just sent an expensive parcel to his house, it said it was delivered, but no signature... No Mark for the past day or so. I'm only concerned because he and Lou have been poorly, I just want to know they're OK.

Really interesting Rob. I don't think I've seen anyone go through the build of this one. What a bit of engineering it is. Also the body is an involved scale model. Top job you did on it. I was asking in my Blackfoot unboxing about whether the tyres had been used on anything else and somebody told me they are also on this one. Rock hard like you say. Great vid mate :-)

Hay Pete. I'm not surprised really, I can't imagine how many or how long the videos would be to do this one justice. Yes i did think they were but wasn't certain has it's been so long since I fitted some really soft tyres to it and then read toe other comment later lol. Many thanks mate.

Nice build, I'm sure I've seen this one before on one of your previous vids - I remember that glitter paint. Those 3 speed gearboxes take an age to assemble. I've built a few of those in my time on Tamiya tractor trucks...don't wanna do it again. Lovely model kit this one. Expensive but well worth it :))

Hay Cosmo. You are correct sir, but believe it or not I had forgotten I'd done it until after I made this one with the voice over so decided to publish it anyway. I was very surprised and very relieved when the gearbox worked first time as I wasn't sure I'd built it right. Very much worth the money. Many thanks mate and stay safe.

Now i know why there was no build video for that truck, its a bit different from the one i had, mostly the motor, the OG had a 750 size motor, trans/3 speed was factory built & the axle's were alot smaller (diff housings, it had no diffs). Great job my friend with the photo bomb & talk through. Wish i never sold that truck, and my Juggernaut ( first gen, the black one. had alum option shocks, light kit) and my TXT-1. Stay Safe Rob, waiting for the next one.

Hi Bob. The reason for me not videoing this build was basically because I didn't own a video camera back then lol. Not familiar with the OG truck but the TXT-1 looks mean and with twin motors. I would hate to have to sell any of mine. Many thanks and stay safe yourself my friend.

The paint was a 3 part car paint from eBay, first a black undercoat than a clear prismatic coat and finally a clear lacquer coat. Yes it is roughly the same as the mountain Rider. Thanks for watching.
