Hi there Dirk, a lot of work went into this great model. Sorry that the liquid mask seemed to had allowed some paint bleed through, it’s so disappointing when the reveals shows these areas. The colour combination is beautiful and I think overall it turned out well. I’ve not used the liquid mask before, always opted to using masking tape to the body, but that means a lot of cleaning after each stage of the colours, to ensure that no masking glue residue remains on the body and reacts with the next paint colour. Great work my friend, it looks good, and I’m sure out of the test run, your not going to see any small imperfections 😊😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😊

Thank you so much John. I used the liquid mask for many bodies and got great results. Easy to put on with a brush and to work with (cuttind) But I never used it for so many layers. Maybe the colour reacted with the mask. The most bleeds were from the last detail colour. And I don't know why I had overseen the spots before painting the pearl white. The only thing I can imagine is that I trusted the mask too much. Have a great weekend my friend

Oh, I am watching this one after the newest video... Oh, well, it is nice to watch both and see the difference! Just like with the Tamiya body, this is a lot of work! Very well done! I really like the Bittydesign body, their designs are fresh and sporty, I also just painted a Bittydesign a little while ago, I really liked it! I think last thing, I forgot to say in the other video, I really like your green and white colour scheme, it looks very nice!

Hi Dirk - good advice and practice to mark out the body cut lines! I find that very useful, too! That green is awesome, I used the same to paint my Subaru Brat, as you have already seen! Looks awesome in the sunlight. Great job on the engine detailing. You really have got a unique truck my friend! Nice preview of body number 2!!! Take care! :))
@RCBirds Жыл бұрын
So true Mark. I noticed the Brat last week. Yes this colour is awesome and for a metallic colour good and easy to spray on. I was a little bit unsure using black instead of white as backing colour, but it turned out great.

Wow Dirk!!! Personally I think that turned out great mate. Such a complex and time consuming process with loads of different colours/detailing. I've yet to do a body without bleeding in one way or another, especially with the contrast of light/dark colours. Never used that liquid mask before, definitely an eye opener for sure! Chosen colours look great, I love that Top force green! Awesome job buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Thank you. It was quiet a good experience for me. These multicolour bodies are interesting. Success and failure're very close to each other. You're right the end product counts. And I never should forget this is an on-roader. Higher speeds, driving mistakes and tarmac aren't the bst friends. Good luck for your paint job. I use the mask since my Conghead. Regular it's great, but I never brought it througb so many layers of paint😉

Look nice the body, the dot masking where a little tatty around the edge a black marker pen can tidy things. But whatever you do with masking and how much time spent it always fails somewhere. LOL and you had a second body at the end.

I think it looks pretty cool! I do know the pain of seeing spray bit of color mixed into other spots in the paint job, it is very frustrating! Just wait until you see the mess I made of the Dirt Master paint job! One roll over and it'll have scratches on it and you won't even notice those anymore! I was wondering if you were going to paint the other body as well! Looks good!
@RCBirds Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words Addam. This was exact the thoughts I had when I did the raw material for the running video today. Several times the front shaved the tarmac and after that I had a deep calm inside. 😊

complex body many sections, I think with that liquid mask if there is a air bubble in it the paint gets down and onto the body, i think you have to use many coats of that stuff for it to work good. it looks cool though. two is better than one!
@RCBirds Жыл бұрын
Thank you Steve. My guess is that the coat reacts with the colour it keeps away. And as I sprayed multible colours over it it might widen hole or bubbles. The most bleeding is of the last colour (cobalt green). And I cannot believe that I had overseen it as I started with the pearl white. All in all I'm happy and need onl some running scars to forget it😁

@RCBirds Жыл бұрын
