Really interesting upgrade Video Rob.It is always fun to improve his car piece by piece..
@robbrennanrc6 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Harry. Yes it is fun. Initially though I wasn't going to upgrade the prop at this time but when I had to dismantle most of the rear end to change the spur gear I thought it would be best so I don't have to do it all over again. Still got a few pounds left to see if I can match the performance of Mark's stock XV-01 so more upgrades to come once we have tested again with these.

😃👍Nice upgrades! those pogo stick shocks had to gooooo!

Cheers Steve. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Just need to see what it's like now with Mark's XV-01 still stock.

Great video Rob. I did laugh when you took the tyre off. It was a great OMG moment. Be good to see it out with Marks XV now. 👍🏻👍🏻😁

Hi Derek. Yes I must admit I cut out the bit where I discovered the inner rim was already off. No idea how long it had been like that but from all the debris it must have been a while lol. Thanks for watching mate.

Excellent upgrade video, Rob! Just perfect. Good job and good upgrades. I just fitted a 67T in my DF-02 (same gearing as the TTs). And a 22T pinion and a brushless motor. Haven’t tried it out yet, but I think I made a overkill gearing wise (the DF-02 has buggy tires too!). Think I will do just like you did here, and just use the old 19T together with the new spur. You’re wiser than me :-)

Hi Mikael. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. I would say I'm wiser Mikael as in reality this is an experiment to see if you can upgrade a TT-02 to match a stock XV-01 without spending more money then just buying the XV-01. So I decide to do a couple of hopefully speed and handling upgrades at a time and then retest. So for the next test I'm hoping the XV won't leave me off the line and the full speed turn will at least be better (Not sure it can be as good without some major work on the turning circle) but we shall see, Well if it ever stops raining here in the UK lol.

Great upgrades and video my mate! If you keep adding goodies like this, I'm gonna have to watch-out! We need to speed test it again to see what difference that gearing change has made! :D

Hey Mark. Yes we do. I was hoping we could go today but maybe not with al this rain about. Thanks for the comment mate.

what a beautiful car! Is there a possibility of raising the chassis a little from the ground? I would like to measure it on unpaved terrain! greetings
@robbrennanrc Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes the guide shows you what to do to have a lower setting for the road or higher for off road by positioning some of the suspension parts differently. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

Hi Rob, I also ordered the drive shaft and high speed gear set but not the propeller joints. Is it working good for you like that?

It is working perfectly, no problems at all mate.

Thanks for the upgrades video and good input Rob. So the tt02 rally kit does not come with the tire inserts inner sponge? Do i have to order them separately as well?
@robbrennanrc5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. I'm afraid so sir. I got Tamiya 53156 hard inner foams.

@@robbrennanrc That is a cheap move from Tamiya.. And i like Tamiya. Ordered 2 pairs and a set of ball bearings. Thanks for the input m8. :)

Super cool upgrades buddy! Did you mod/mill the rear a-arms and the switch the front knuckle/spacers for more ground clearance?
@robbrennanrc6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Charlie and yes did the mods for more ground clearance.
@zero6045 жыл бұрын
It comes with only 6 ball joints? Doesn't it need 8? 2 per shock?
@robbrennanrc5 жыл бұрын
Hi Zero604. They do come with eight ball joints, 6 of them have an external thread as part of the unit but two have a threaded hole and long grub screw. Thanks for watching.
@zero6045 жыл бұрын
@@robbrennanrc thanks for replying, I wonder why they do it that way instead of all the same
@robbrennanrc5 жыл бұрын
I know that some Tamiya kits come with those grub screw ball joints as stock so they are probably just trying to cover all bases.

Nice Upgrades!!! That's why I think I'm glad I was forced to build my TT-02 piece-by-piece. The luxury of adding the parts I want, without waste.... of course, no spare parts either! 😜 I did the Aluminimium Propshaft, with input Cups. But, I noticed a TIGHTER fit in the Stock reinforced Plastic Cups. So I think either way is good, unless you go low turn Brushless!! I got the High Speed Gear Kit also, but didn't use the Spur Gear. I went with a 65t Robinson Racing Delrin Spur Gear. Works a treat with the Tamiya Bits! And, Yeah Racing 55mm Dampers.... But I did a redesign that gives the TT-02 about 7mm more Ground Clearance, 13mm More Suspension travel, and is much softer! Even has about 2-3mm of Droop, just placing it down. 😱😎😀😊 If I can find ANY Transmitter and 195mm Touring Body....... I'll be taking it out, against my friends. One with a very Modified FF-05 Evo, and the other with a "Haitch-PI"(I love that!!) Rally. IF I can get those two things. ~ Carmine 💥 ⛽

Hi Carmine. Thanks for the information. I think when I do get around to changing the motor it will be for a 13.5T brushless, dont' think I will go with anything quicker. Sounds like your TT-02 should handle really well. I think my next mod is going to have to be to the steering and possibly other suspension components to give me some adjustability as it's still very twitchy compared to Mark's. Hope you get the bits you need to go race your mates!
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks6 жыл бұрын
Never got the bits Rob... Such is life. I am dying to try it though. I also can't wait to share my info with everyone!! Even a slideshow Video, if I can. I believe that my Suspension now has MORE travel than a XV-01!! I will likely go with a 13T myself. Seems like a great balance.
