Ahhhh... very satisfying seeing this take shape with all those cool mods! Love the sound effects and voice overs! Good to see you, I noticed we saw glimpses of you in other videos but now we really can put a face to your channel. Thanks for the mention, my friend. Looks like it may be a while until we see this car run again, judging by the weather! Cheers mate! 😎👊👍

Ah yes, my goal is to make my tt-02 as plush ( or close ) as my XV-02. We'll see. Yes my beardy mug... I wasn't really keen on showing my face, but I don't want to cramp my creativity either...🤣. The wind is howling and the snow is blowing and banging here. I am keeping my hopes up for a clear-ish day or two to do some ice-RC-ing! Fingers crossed! Cheers mate and thank you for checking in!

Ah oui! J'essaye de "tune-up" c'te chassis pour qu'elle puisse comparer avec le XV-02 de la meme marque Tamiya. Merci!

Good to put a face to the channel there Mauzy! Nice hop ups there, slop seems nonexistent now!👍😊
@MauzyrockRC9 ай бұрын
Heh, about time hey? Ya the slop is gone 96%. The bellcrank parts are a little stiff, so if the Tamiya servo dies I'll just upgrade it. Cheers!

Nice upgrades and rebuild! Those Plastic suspension balls do get chewed up up with the dirt and grit. It was good seeing you too bud! Looking forward to seeing it out ripping around. It looks like you may need to wait until it thaws out a little more!!

Yes! I was trying not to add the blue-bling just for the sake of it. Useful parts only. Yes I have a face! Now if I could work on getting my beard to level 99 like yours... It is quite a magnificent thing. So winter will prolly be here for another... well it could be until late may early June until it gets semi reasonable out. I'll find a weather window to do some testing! Cheers!

Hey, Mauzy, nice to put a face to those magical hands😊😊and some fantastic upgrades for the amazingly versatile TT-02. 😊😊 just so happens I’m doing a TT-02 rally car, and have purchased many hop ups to match the car’s image…the awesome Subaru Impreza Monte Carlo 😊😊 got all except those metal low friction balls that go into the front arms. Best wishes 😊😊
@MauzyrockRC9 ай бұрын
Hah! It was inevitable I share my ugly mug :) Yes TT02 rally is surely a fun chassis to tweak and tune for rally. I think the metal suspension balls are a good choice, I wore out my plastic ones, though i did go pretty hard... Thanks and cheers!

Thanks man! I love seeing what upgrades do to performance ( if anything lol)
@achmed51Ай бұрын
Nice! Im new to RCs but i got my first a few weeks ago. I wanted a rally build. I got the tt02R which has most of the essential upgrades from the start.The things i added on top of that was: 1. Rally tires 2. Protective nylon case like the one you have 3. Heatsink with fan for the motor. Other than that i did the "high ground clearance" build, and connected the shocks to the lowest point of the chassis to get them as tall as possible. Ground clearance is around 24/25 mm front/rear with 72 mm rally tires. I think the only important upgrade besides this would be the steering.
@MauzyrockRCАй бұрын
Hey great! That is decent ground clearance. So I think this kit already has bearings (very important) so yes, I would go with the tamiya upgraded steering assembly. Should be a sweet ride!
@achmed51Ай бұрын
@@MauzyrockRCYes it includes full ball bearings. I havet driven it enough to really feel the limitations of the stock steering. The tt02R contains some metal parts in the steering but only portions of it. How does an upgraded steering feels compare to the stock one?
@MauzyrockRCАй бұрын
@achmed51 Well the closest things I can compare with are: The aluminum one I added to the TT02 rally build here, along with some modding to allow for wider throw, works a charm, smoother. The other is on my TT02BR. A more hopped up kit. The steering is super smooth there also. However I can’t remember if it was aluminum or not.

@@MauzyrockRC okej! Thanks.

Hey, a nice rally conversion , in my opinion, should not involve any of the things u did. 1 by removing the plastic in the metal rod of the super mini shocks u get the mini one, with more travel 2 get some very soft and longer springs, there is a xv02 spring set sold separately 3 to increasw even more the shock travel and the ground clearance get carbon fibe shock towor and put the shocks higher (like a long dampfer xv01) 4 u may have to do some mods in the bathtub to get the arm exstend more and increase the ground clearance. That is it, longer shock travel, more ground clearance and softer springs
@MauzyrockRC9 ай бұрын
Oh ok. Did you watch the first one where I made it more rally capable from the On road TT-02? I managed to get more steering angle ( before this upgrade) and more shock travel without spending more money. I already have softer springs. Maybe I can try your suggestion with the XV-02 springs. I Believe I already did the shock mod to the super mini CVas. So it runs really nice. Front suspension is plush, only the rear is still a little stiff. Unless I missed something with the tub, I think I already modded it for ride height. If you watch the first build video, I would hear your thoughts on that one too. Thanks

If you want to also do some upgrades you can do the following. If you don't need to widen the front, just ignore those parts. List of Tamiya part #s: 54394 - WR-02 39mm long CVD axles (front) 54477 - TT-02 diff outdrives (front & rear) x2 54610 - 9MM wide aluminum hexes (front & rear) x2 50883 - 39mm steel dog bones (rear) 50808 - TG10 wide rear wheel axle (rear)
@angrymelon9 ай бұрын
Alternatively, if you want to stick with the big plastic outdrives, dogbones, etc, you can get Tamiya 51529. You only get one long axle per bag, so you'd have to buy two. The TT-02 kits come with plastic hexes that are used in combination with the wide axles, so you'll already have those.
@MauzyrockRC9 ай бұрын
Nice list! thank you. I was hoping not to have to get too many parts. THE 51529 X2 is fairly cheap. It i s really only the axel stubs in the rear I would need longer. 🤘🤘
@manman66469 ай бұрын
Can you tell me which one is best for drift, rally or drift spec?
@MauzyrockRC9 ай бұрын
The drift spec is your best bet. Most drifters are rear wheel drive (2WD) and rally is mostly 4x4. Then from there you can mod your steering angle or what ever to your heart's delight.
@LilDiabloRob7 ай бұрын
What steering hop-up did you use?
@MauzyrockRC7 ай бұрын
So I eventually added an aluminum steering assembly, however I modified the upper and lower arms front and rear by removing some material, and also removed some material from the chassis itself to allow more steering throw.
