Well another great episode of Last of the Summer RC 🤣 Really good fun guys and wow what a result! I think that you can be justifiably smug with that one. Hey you know I could say that you were too chicken 🐔 to get into the brushless class! You've got brushless motors and lipos you big girls blouse! Anyway I think that Fil is putting me in the brushed class whether I like it or not and so far I'm on about 25mph 😞 I'm not sure whether to spend some money or just give up now. Hi Pete, yeah we are getting worse here, I blame the hot weather, it's gone to our heads! Oh yeah, you got that right, I definitely chickened out of the brushless brigade, no way am I running a TT02 at anything near 50 or 60mph! TBF I've only got 13.5T brushless and that won't cut it. Anyway, sorry about the clucking (ooh err!!) but it just came out, no offence intended! The guys said to keep it in as it was funny, I really hoped you would take it the right way! You got that right, Steve, after a couple of cycles it's delivering more, just as we thought! Changing the connectors might have heled a little, too. Oh yeah, I always use something to hold those pesky R clips after losing so many in the past!

Congratulations on the 40mph target. Along with the motor upgrade and the 8.4v NiMh, I would like to think that reducing the resistance by re-soldering the connector and using a deans connector, has permitted reliability of the power delivery from the energy source 😊😊. From my days as an electrical engineer, CSA of the cabling and the connectivity was always a factor, especially when trying to delivery high currents. One happy bunny then 😂😊😂 best wishes to you and the family 😊😊

Well done guys! From 35 to 40 mph is serious progress! Did you notice any improvement in stability with the diffuser? If it did, would you mind me sharing some tips with you? Have a great weekend guys!

Thanks so much, Hubertus! You can tell how pleased I was! But yes, I could feel that the car was more stable at the higher speed and I'm glad I fitted it. Of course I would welcome any tips you could give! Take care and wishing you a great weekend, too!

@@MarkBryanRC This all might be a bit radical, but to squeeze out every tenth of mph: Close up the underside right up to the diffuser. This should prevent air pressure underneath the bodyshell, and improve aerodynamics. Because there's still some air coming in from the wheel openings, open up the rear of the bodyshell (cut out a portion of the rear bumper). I don't know if this is against the rules, but remove the center and front driveshafts for less friction loss. It'll become unstable so put some hard compound tires at the front, hard front shock springs and/or a stabiliser at the front. You're the first one i see ever that made a rear diffuser! I made one for my HPI a while ago but that was for stabllity only (short and less obtuse angle).

Many, many thanks for the tips, Hubertus! I totally understand the logic of what you are saying! I'll see what I can come up with, it might be difficult to fit an undertray to close up the underside as I'm struggling with ground clearance as it is as the lower arms are horizontal already! Wish me luck, I'm just going out with the highest gearing I've got, 7 teeth more on the pinion!!!! 🙏🤞👍
