that’s great mate . and really surprised as my old infraction had that motor and only hit 20. it shows how much chassis weight makes a difference 👍
@druscanam2 ай бұрын
For sure, you have to remember that's in a 4WD 1/8 scale vehicle. Once you put in a much smaller 1/10 scale 2WD with taller gearing it flys. Saw a video of a guy with a Redcat Piranha who put this 570 9T in his. Gearing was quite conservative, did 29mph on 2S then when on 3S he got a massive jump to 41mph so there seemed like there would be more in it with taller gearing.
@MarkBryanRC2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yep scale size does really matter, as well as gearing of course. Too bad I can't use a 3S battery! 😁👍

Cheers Dom - oh yes I remember you had an Infraction but didn't know it had this motor in it! Size weight and gearing are huge factors in speed running! And not crashing helps! 😂👍

@@druscanam yeah the arrma was huge . it was obviously the mega but it just needed more power tbh . great chassis mind 👍
@druscanam2 ай бұрын
@@rc-dom-uk Yeah I had the vendetta. I use to track mine too. Even the brushless motor was too small. Not that it wasn't fast enough it was,I think it actually had the perfect amount of power for how much grip was available. The motor however only being 3660 in size did have to work quite hard to achieve that speed and power on just 3S too being 3900kv also. Honestly it should of been running with a larger motor with lower kV on 4S

With that size motor it's not an MX-5 it's a Bullet Roadster 😅(if you don't know what that is look it up) Congrats on new PB. Hope you can squeeze more out of this one with gearing. I'm guessing you will given its higher torque. Also fyi these motors (when put in a 1/10 2WD vehicle) are good for 3S. I know doing that will no longer make it eligible for the speed challenge but I think it's work doing just for fun after the speed challenge is over😂
