Lost my drivers head years ago, so I bought a bunch of cheap pez dispensers. Donald Duck, Darth Vader, Tweety bird. Super glue and magnets and you can change them around.

Hello there great video series and the rough rider looks epic i just finished building one myself i’m in my 30’ but i love the oldschool stuff rcs cars i think it was made better than some modern day rcs and vehicles it’s to bad we don’t get them like this anymore i went with a different paint job for my rough rider a red to black fade metallic i posted on a tamiya group in facebook

Just managed to get hold of an unbuilt kit and a great price, these are going for silly money now, I’ve seen the for upwards of £800 and for an original unbuilt kit close to £2,000!!.. Nice build, I like the blue but much prefer the red/orange. Halfway through building my kit now. Thanks for the video and some great advice etc. 👍👏

Above 20 yrs ago, saw a rough rider seating on a neighbor's wall... Evenually I knocked on the door and ask about the RR and spoke with the lady...the grand father heard me and say it for his grandson. The lady/grandmom just took it and told me to take it without even looking at her better half. That was way before the re re and I ended up spending good amt of money to replace the bumper and tires. Only if I waited a few more years could have gotten the re re.💸 But is an original.

Glenn, I have an important question! Can you confirm if the front wheels on the re-release are the same as the original? My front tyres are original but aged and torn. Was thinking to buy the re release tyres but I read somewhere they may be different 🤨

Hey Glen what can I do to get the front spring on the buggy champ or rough rider mine fell off the upper front arms keep sliding off even with the grub screw in and lock tight on it what advice do you have on this

Love these, I did mine in the alternative blue, they are buggered if you roll them even once though, tamiya should have made the top out of alloy. 👍👍

Aren't you using the wrong paints? PS is polycarbonate, you need TS paint but nice paint scheme. Mine is still in box. :-)

Looks great. I actually prefer this buggy in a darker green. It's not box art but looks awesome. My favorite of these is the Super Champ. Been sitting on a NIB re re Fighting Buggy. Gonna have to build it soon and I'm not going box art on that one either. ;)

I had an original one of these in 1979 in orange kept hold of it for years and years but when I got divorced around 10 years ago I had to get rid of loads of my things and a box containing my original orange rough rider had to be basically thrown in the skips just didn’t have the space or the time to go through stuff to say I’m now just bit p####d off because I skipped that car and loads of other things 😢

Excellent video again👍 I used clear acrylic to make the decals stick down properly because even heat after a while it they just curled up again but clear acrylic varnish works perfectly and you get a brilliant shine!

Great job and nice looking car. Actually the box art shows the arches on the rear shocks white, and the problem with the long white stickers is that you get this edges where they meet up. I think i will try to paint the white on mine and modify the design slightly. To me the sides look to high, (the "RMR 110" part). The screws that fix the roof on the rear i will take some black ones instead of the tamiya silver.

Way beyond my reach unfortunately 😕. With regards this one and the Sand Scorcher, pick up some stainless m3 button head allen screws for the roof bracket that clips to roll cage . Looks soooo much cleaner

Yeah with you on that Glenn this shell looks crap with no decals! But when decals added It goes from zero to hero! Looks amazing! Great job! I had one of these but sold it stupidly but this buggy is fantastic and awesome fun to drive on the beach! You might find it's too precious to drive though!😉

Awesome build. I was lucky enough to build an original one in 1979/80. At 13 years old it took quite a few evenings and weekends between school work, but was worth it. Mine was Red and it was far more difficult to paint back then. First the body had to be sprayed white, then masked up for the red over top. Unfortunately mine turned out a bit of a mess, but hey it was all my own work. Didn't matter much though, as on its second or third outing I rolled it, stripped the lights off it and snapped the roof. It was never quite the same again.

Oh yeah they work I used a metallic green meant for polycarbonate on a Lexan shell and the plastic mirror housings. I made sure to sand the plastic parts for good adhesion. I really didn't need to clear the parts, they were a great match
