Jonathan, many people praise JP for helping them find their way back to a religious framework… I have found your work to provide a view of the profound beauty in the work of Christ and the stories that are canonical and extra-canonical. You have helped my faith be grounded. Your work has served a role in a way that apologetics never has. I am not sure why, I think it’s to do with the nature of apologetics as a defensive posture as opposed to your work which is much more exploratory and novel.

When I thought the darkest thoughts of my life, a voice said to me, "Why don't you read the Bible?" Being in a state of absolutely having no will to live and sure I was losing my mind, I decided I might as well answer the voice. "I have no Bible," I snapped aloud. Instantly, I saw in my mind a shoe box in the closet. I went to the box and there it lie, nestled in a batch of my captors memorabilia, a tiny New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs. I sat down and began to read Matthew. At Chapter 27:46-50, I fell on my knees sobbing and asked Jesus to be my Messiah. so when you speak of how his last words on the cross and especially "Eli, Eli, lama sabach thani," "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?", knowing from watching this: Jesus could barely speak for breathlessness, it pierces my heart for yet another time. How we feel God has forsaken us in our darkest moments! Jesus pointed to it in some of his last words, exactly what happens to our faith in the depths of suffering. How much Jesus wants us to know he understands! I had two babies. We were stuck in a tiny trailer in a small trailer court in a vast wilderness area in Idaho. My captor, to punish me yet again, had taken car keys, any money away from me. I had no phone most of the time during these occurrences. It was cycle of abuse that included beatings.I did not know any neighbors who could help me and most were off working as well. And there I was, unable to cry out to anyone and somewhat too proud to ask strangers for help. What I have last described happened to me again and again from age 18 to nearly 22. Being drug all over the Northwest by a cruel, sadistic person, I could not go home to my family, because my mentally ill Father, who also suffered from severe PTSD, said he never wanted to see my face again. I had become my family's scapegoat. Thus, my Mama would sneak me in once in a while to see her when I was in Montana and had the keys to a car. Even when we planned my get away to visit my brothers and sisters and her, my Dad sometimes came in and erupted into fighting mode. I would stand my ground, but ultimately, he'd chase me and my baby or babies out, depending on the year. I am writing this to tell you to pray. I did and my Dad got on his knees and begged our family to forgive him. He broke his Catholic understanding of certain rules and asked Jesus into his heart. He eventually received loving help for his PTSD, and the VA gave him a much deserved disability pension for the trauma he experienced in WWII. I got away from the captor and my entire family's lives changed forever. This took some time, but I started my new life as a new creature in Christ by age 33. I raised seven children, not including ones who came to me for help. I know Jesus's story is the greatest story ever told. Jesus saved me and my family, even friends through and despite our suffering.

After reading so many conversion stories, I could see that God is leading different individuals to different Christian denominations, and they’re all genuine authentic conversions through encounters with the Divine. I read the messages of True Life in God given to a Greek Orthodox lady by the name of Vassula Ryden since 1985 to this day. It’s about the unity of the churches. The Vatican examined the messages and found nothing contrary to the Christian faith. In these messages Jesus is telling us: you’re all one in my eyes, you all belong to me. Yes, Christ’s Church is ONE. But as we know there’s so much hostility and intolerance among the churches that Jesus says, He will unite them with fire. I don’t know what He meant by the word fire. I think fire means suffering and purification, which is already happening and will intensify gradually. He says love and humility is missing in the hearts of the clergy and they stand stiff in their positions but Jesus will make them bend their heads with fire. I’m an Orthodox myself but I also attend Catholic Mass. I firmly believe that the unification of the church will happen as Jesus is promising us. I look forward to that day when the sheep will abide with the wolves in harmony. God bless you.

A few moments in, I am crying. Raised nominally Catholic, I understand how beautiful some of their traditions remain and how much these traditions help people in a time of need. Although I traveled on into checking out many religions in the world, I respect the core of faith in these stories. Compelled to keep searching for more, I became immersed in Christian and what some call pseudo Christian teachings, but only after I had an experience with Christ during a post natal blues episode. Once this happened, I dove even further into all things pertaining to faith and esoteric thought. People consider me contrary, but I consider this is the path wherein I find the greatest joy, love and peace dancing within me and the suffering is part of the journey to full acceptance and incorporation into the Oneness of love. Thanks for this, you two..

@@M-i-k-a-e-l I read. I went to many group meetings and listened. I befriended a Tibetan fighting for the right for Tibet to be freed from Chinese control. I held meetings in my home. So, finally I met Jesus in a very real way, received an infilling of Spirit and then the living well began to flow. I can question many things about Christianity, but I always return to my experiences. It has not been an easy road looking for the Order of Melchizedek in Hinduism and in other faiths, but I believe awakenings are common experiences for seekers. My journey becomes richer all of the time. I only wish I could devote more to my studies these days. I also receive nourishment from helping others in need and seeing bits of progress bloom in their lives. I hope understood your question. @@M-i-k-a-e-l Each of us has a journey separate, but relevant to one another, when we begin seeking in earnest. I see you know about the Cathars. I feel close to them in their sufferings and take some verses in the Bible quite literally. Hebrews Chapter 11 and the beginning of 12. Faith in all of the believers passed away from us in the two thousand plus years since Jesus came. They are able to peek in at us, even interact with us at times. This includes dead relatives and friends. And there are celestials. As far as reading goes, one must ask God about that. It seems the right book flies into the hands off of shelves just when needed. Blessings to you on your journey. It is such a gift to be able to share in this conversation. Many saints have said that contemplating the Crucifixion is the key to understand the live of God, our lives, and our place in the world. It is a meditation so deep that it seems a whole lifetime won't be enough to exhaust it. And in the mysteries of the Rosary, we can see how suffering makes you who you are (if you are, like Mary, docile to the will of God) and also prepares your heart. You can see that even the Joyful mysteries contain in them the seed of suffering.

Soon after having watched this video, I went on to another channel (Soft White Underbelly) it’s main purpose is to expose the lives of those who have endured, or are enduring great suffering. It’s tragic, but eye opening. There’s a recent episode titled “Anna Maria”, this woman narrates her story that dealt with child abuse to drugs, violence and physical ailments. Just like you, she spoke of her encounter with gold light calling her out of her misery and the brink of death. Her words resonated so much with your message, I was taken back in all honestly. She may be someone to reach out for a chat for she is just as adamant for positive change and service to others in the name of our Savior. Looking forward to more episodes!

Very blessed by this. Thanks. Listened with my wife and we were honored you would share about service to God in all things and the trust and surrender and death and redemption cycles in relationships. It is so refreshing to hear testimonies of the saints that remind us of our first encounters with faith and grace and God’s love. May God continue to be with you as He is and always.

Hi Tammy. I so loved this conversation. If you're curious to further explore your thoughts around the 40 minute mark, I recommend looking up Theology of the Body. The feminine openness to receive is actually a sign of how all of humanity is to be in relationship to God, for he is the one who offers to give the seed for new life.

Thank you Tammy. Behind every great man... indeed. I feel a warm resonance from you, a gentleness that this world is thirsty for, you helped me a lot today. Thank you for offering yourself so openly. And thank you for opening your mind and humbly asking the big questions and sitting with the tension. I find this form of communication with life much more fruitful than certainty and answers. Be well and Peace to you and yours.

6:51 - The cross as a symbol of the Present, upon which we must crucify ourselves through surrender of our "mortality" to the Truth.

When a righteous “dies “, he or she essentially “ takes the hit “ , takes on the judgement hanging over the world and it’s people . Removes the negativity created by man. They don’t really die they just go their next level, elevate . Jesus aka Rabbi Yeshua Ben Yosef ,came to give people a path , people who had no connection to God . He tried to teach them the deep hidden secrets of the Torah , hence he spoke in parables so commoners could understand it. He could obviously materialize and dematerialize , he had total control over physicality , that why he was “ Son of God “ . This man is on point , the cross does symbolize something greater in the Cosmos , the tree of life reality . Long discussion . / Anyway , Ms Petersons story of her healing is very inspirational . Miraculous . God bless . ❤️

Thank you both for these conversations! I am working my way through the first one and looking forward to more. I have found Jonathan’s thoughts on participating in and creating culture very helpful, especially the past two years. I have found Tammy’s thoughts very moving too, what I have heard of them, and so happy to see this collaboration. Sometimes you don’t know how much you have missed or needed something till you stumble on it! Thank you.
