Don't let the detractors distract you from the fact that they wouldn't even be talking about it had the Dodgers not won 3 straight elimination games to even make it to the World Series. The Braves could have just as easily been World Series champions had 1 of those games gone the other way. Not only that, but the postseason was actually extended to include more seeds and a Wild Card Series. In a typical postseason there are 10 teams, 5 NL and 5 AL, 6 division champs and 4 wild card teams, but the 2020 postseason had expanded to 16 seeds in total! 6 division champs and 10 wild card seeds. That's over half of the total teams in MLB who had an equal chance to win the World Series, of which 6 of those teams were given a postseason spot where normally there aren't, and the Dodgers came out on top despite almost being eliminated in the NLCS. If anything the Dodgers were forced to play a Wild Card Series when in a typical year division winners are given a Wild Card bye. Dodgers won it legitimately and that NLCS comeback only legitimizes it more.

At the end of it all, the Los Angeles Dodgers, no doubt the best team in baseball this year, can now bring a World Series title back to Hollywood after 32 years. Final score: Dodgers 3, Rays 1. LA wins the series 4 games to 2. That will just about wrap it up for us in this emotionally charged season. There's an asterisk next to this World Series. Only 60 games in a Covid season. Who really knows if they would have won the Series in a full 162 games season. Look at them in 2021 106 wins lost the NLCS and 2022 111 wins and lost the NLDS. Going to be alot of questions unless they win it in a full season

It counts. The games were played, players could have sat out and still got their paycheck in the 2020 season. If it wasn't a worthy season or postseason they could have easily just stayed at home. So obviously it does hold some merit given the fact that teams players decided to go through and play
