Very informative. I am 36 yrs old and have been fishing Florida salt water for 31 years, I am learning new things everytime I watch one of Brent's videos. This guy is legit. Plus we fish the same waters! I am going to see you at one of our spots Brent. Let's go!

Hey Brent, don’t forget warm water run off at the power plant Weedon island. That is if it’s still there. Grew up fishing on the bay in the early 70’s. Retired and plan on bringing my solo skiff to fish and pull in some fish and good memories.

I like your setup mine is exactly like that with a 4000'stradic and also a 7' mojo St croix rod. It will get u through most anything inshore!!😎

Hi , I just found your channel and wanted to tell you it is so great. 👍🏻👍🏻I love your videos and tips. we live in georgi mostly we fish on the lake but we are visiting florida a few times in the summer time. I love it salwater fishing is amazing. I’m originaly from czech republic so that is so amazing for me to be on the ocean ☺️☺️🎣🎣🎣🎣thank you again for the tips and please keep doing what you doing. I purchased st. croix rod last week but for the drop shot I guess I need something stronger for saltwater. 😀 and I use shimano stradic 4000 and I love it !!!!

Would love some insight on where to cast net green backs in the winter, summer time i know right where to go, and can get em everytime, but when winter rolls around i just cant find them
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
It's definitely harder to find them in the winter. They often go offshore or you can find some hanging around deeper docks and bridge pilings

Any advice for fishing on Isle Del Sol in St. Pete? Coming down next week will be shore fishing with your recommended setups, great videos.

Sorry for the late response, the trout have been on fire so use swimbaits and topwaters around grass flats and oyster bars

Hey Brent, I screen you and Justin Menendez catching those big drum, I live on the west coast in new port Richey: do you know if there is a place here to catch them? Within an hr or so drive if possible thanks.
@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
During early summer, like May-July, the big drum are inside Tampa Bay on bridge pilings. Drop down half a blue crab to the bottom and you'll get a couple beasts

Do you tend to belly hook the greenback more in the winter time than the summer time?
@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
I'm just now learning the benefits of belly hooking greenbacks. I like doing that more now than nose hooking it situations like fishing oyster bars or docks
@greg1231685 жыл бұрын
oh ok....and my thoughts of belly hooking would be that it would slow the greenback down a little
@greg1231685 жыл бұрын
I seem to always find some whitebait...winter time a little harder but I do manage, and its normally at the skyway
@greg1231685 жыл бұрын
very true...I tend to keep to myself and away from the idiots.....look for me away from everyone in a 27 foot black shearwater with the 400r on the back!!

Really enjoyed the video, excellent content! Any particular shore areas you recommend when trying to go for a slam until I can get another boat? 🙉
@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
Try the Safety Harbor Pier and surrounding park area, it's a good area for all three species

Hey man awesome videos! very informative and helpful! I'm from Minnesota gonna be down in the Tampa area around mid March any tips for fishing in the spring from shore? What about surf fishing? We did that last year on the Atlantic side and did pretty good is there pompano on the gulf side?
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
From the surf, you'll get whiting and pompano using shrimp. There will be a lot of redfish and trout in the bay that you can get over grassflats or mangrove shorelines
@kozynorthoutdoors51554 жыл бұрын
@@SeeYaDude We are renting a place right on a inlet will there be sheepshead possibly off the docks?
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
More likely than not, especially if it's an older dock with some barnacles/oysters growing on the pilings

Hey man, I just moved to Tampa bay and I’ll only be here for 4 months for an internship. I brought my boat and as you can see do some KZbin stuff as well. I’d love to get out there and fish with you sometime if you want/need a partner. I’m just trying to learn the area as fast as I can since I’m here for a short time.
