@@gouloune1 Real talk!! Highlighting this doesn’t disparage the event, but shows as a people, we need to have a sense of urgency to empower our community. If the rink isn’t Black owned, we need to start asking questions. 14 years is enough time to build our own. We can’t continue to support those that don’t support us. As a Black business owner, I’ve made a commitment to invest in my community. Why? I’m obligated to support those who have invested in the development of my company. That said, I’ve started designing and looking for several locations to build state of the art rinks. If not now, then when? 🎤 drop!!

First 'THE PALLADIUM 'in Montreal then "The Roller Palace"in Pickering Ontario.....I fell in love with Roller skating in DETROIT CITY....and THE Beats in the 80's!!!!! Never mind! Spent every Sunday night at United skates of America in Tampa. It was soul skate night every sunday with dj mark vann from wtmp radio station. Those were great memories. Now i take my kids and granddaughter.

Really?? I know they do here in Tulsa...or did 3-4 years ago. There's a rink here with 90's pop and r&b, adult night. Haven't been in 4 years. This has got me wanting to go next week to see if they still do it. They had skate crews and all. I was a part of one crew. You may want to look into it. It's a whole under world...and if you're not a part of it frankly you wouldn't know. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I didn't know until my cousin turned me on to it, then I saw it was a whole thing/movement. The crowds weren't this big, but enough, and fun too. 🙂
