My 38 years old well water pump is not working properly. It's been running 24 hours everday for the last 2 months, and no wonder why my electric bill is almost 3 times high . I went to the Tampa Well drilling office and I met a very kind man name James he so knowledgeable about Well water and I been calling him many times ever since and ask many questions he explained to me patiently and send Jacob and Collin and Jacob gave me an estimate and the fallowing day Jacob and Ryan came and did the job . I was very happy with the service I received from Tampa Well Drilling Jacob and Ryan was very knowledgeable and professional. Jacob took the time to explain the process to me and answer all of my questions. The drilling was done quickly and efficiently, and the well is now providing me with clean, fresh water.
I would highly recommend Tampa Well Drilling to anyone who is considering having a well drilled. They are a reputable contractor who provides excellent service.

You can always tell a northern well from a well in the no freeze zone like Florida, up here we mostly use a pitless adapter the moves the water line below the frost level so you never see the water pipe at the top. So all there is is to drop in the pipe that has the adapter assembly at the top and wire the pump to the power. Have a great day, great job on the replacement.

What causes red stains is typically Iron Bacteria. It will stain bathtubs, sinks and toilets. Its relatively harmless to us but they use bleach/chlorine to kill and control it. That's why they poured the Chlorine in the well. I have a 59' well and I made a pvc hand pump for it back in 2016 and then a few years later installed my own submersible pump with 1-1/2" poly line. Not really that hard to do. Look like your pump was 220v. You can get some pretty powerful 120v submersibles now that pump 25GPM. I have mine on a outlet and switch so I turn it on and off manually for laundry and toilet water as my place doesn't have operable plumbing inside other than the toilet. Love watching videos about wells. And may I add you have a cute accent and very pretty girl (I did check your profile 😅)

I'm sure there's some formula the calculates the depth of the pump by how far the water rises in the casing and how far it draws down when pumping, and how fast it recovers to the starting depth of the water. And the pump is set below that position with a margin of error added in. Have a great day

There was no green ground wire coming from wherever the power was being fed from. They simply folded over the green wire which was in the blue cable and tucked it in the LB fitting and appears to have left it unconnected.

@@elwoodchisom527730+😮 years ago they didn't have the green ground wire. Wiring coming to the casing lacks this connection. They cannot attach the earth ground because it would provide a second bond to neutral at the pump which is disallowed by code - residential should only have a single bond at the panel.

@paulrooster2108

It's do to our geography, Florida is sorta unique as it sits on a bed of limestone with a sorta thin bed of clay . The Limestone an sand above it acts as a natural filter . Which allows our surface water to be very close to the surface. 1 property I owned the original well was only 30 ft deep before usable water was reached. Our water is under constant pressure so once you drill down it will push itself to the surface, hence why pipe only needed to be 40 feet down . I could go into a lot of detail on this that would be the length of a book . We have many natural springs in the state where the ground water just bubbles up to the surface some acres & acres wide . One you can Google is called Weeki Wachee Springs, something like over 100 million gallons of water flows from it daily . An unfortunately this is why we also have so many Sinkholes. As the saying goes with the good comes the bad 🤷‍♂️. Years ago I was working on one job site where a Well Drilling Crew was dropping pipe an at around 80 ft they hit a natural spring water started shooting up nearly 20 feet in the air which had to be capped off . Another job site in a different county a mile or so away from where I was working another Spring was hit an within a few minutes the surface cap ( ground) collapsed an the whole truck was lost .

Silicone filled wire nuts is a Joke, Silicone in general for moisture protection is a joke unless you use it as a form in place gasket otherwise it WILL leak and rather than protect the wires it will cause the nuts to retain moisture, they are just fine in the conduit just as the building code calls for.

Nobody keeps galvanized anymore. Sure, her pipes looked fine, but she probably had rusty pipes inside after 30 years. Also, galvanized is a pain to deal with in wells especially if the well is too shallow for it to be necessary. The 45' of flexible PVC she bought probably cost less than $300, will be good forever, and next time her pump goes up will be a lot easier to pull out.
