Thank you, you're review was very helpful since I have been making up my mind about buying a suitable tele. I think I'm going to buy this one. All my other lenses are from Tamron and I am very happy with them. Greetings from the Netherlands, Alexander

i have owned this lens for a year now and it is 99% on my camera. i agree with your points, and i’d add that the MFD at the wide end is a great perk for me. AF is slightly faster than the sigma and on par with the sony. IS is slightly erratic for video compared to the other 2. the main drawback is the lack of teleconverter compatibility and reach.

Great review! Portability is the reason I chose this lens over the Sigma and Sony. That meant choosing to carry this lens in my PD 10L sling bag rather than leaving it at home due to the large size. It's almost the same length as the Sony 100-400m GM.

Thanks! It's a first ultra-zoom I have used that I didn't mind carrying with me all day - it makes difference

Looks like a winner! But the Canon RF 100-500 f4.5-7.1 has this beat in terms of weight (weighing only 1365g which is almost 30% lighter) P.S Looove the colors of your edits!

Seems like a very interesting lens. The weight is a bit of a mixed bag though, since serious wildlife photographers won't mind the extra weight for quality, and it is still a pretty heavy lens for the casual hand-held photo clicker. Since you do shoot Lumix, would love to see a comparison of this against the Panasonic GH6 + Lumix/Leica 100-400 lens (especially with the High res mode) :)

it all comes down to personal preference. I don't have any plans to compare any full frame lenses side by side to APS-C or MF lenses. Sorry

Hello please help me decide whether to go with Sigma 150-600 or Tamron 150-500 . Where I live Sigma is 150$ cheaper but I hear Tamron has better af
@PavSZ3 жыл бұрын
only you can decide - I can't tell any difference in AF performance between those two lenses

How would you compare it with the Sigma 100-400?! This is much lighter in weight, but has only 400mm on the long end… how does the C-AF compare? Did you try both lenses?!

I have reviewed them both: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqTClICqpMxqbKM

You really confuse me, are you a Sony shooter mostly or Panasonic. Or do you switch periodically?

How is the night photography in the lens ?
@PavSZ Жыл бұрын
I think this will depend hugely on the type of night photography, your skill level and the camera used. I think it can be OK
