My go to macro Lens is the Nikon 105mm f2.8 Z lens. The image quality is outstanding with this lens.
@RalphMayhewPhotography2 ай бұрын
I agree. That’s my go to until Tamron change their mind and let me keep this one 😂😂😂

@@RalphMayhewPhotographyYou're saying that tamron is better? In what way?

Dang I literally just bought the 105 F2.8 S from Nikon. Would’ve strongly considered this as an alternative, as I love the 90 F2.8 G2 on F mount.

The 105 is an epic lens tho 👌

The 55 mm f2.8 micro Nikon and 105 mm VR f2.8 micro Nikon , the Tamron is on my wish list 😊

There’s a 55mm 😱 - I had no idea. The Tamron is a cracker of a lens.

im using 2 Tamrons 70-180 g2 and 28-75 g2 the Tele is suberb but 27-75 is not that good ,, i wonder in this case if its 700 its better to overpay 200 for sony macro

If you’re after better macro photos then a specialised macro lens is definitely a sensible move 👍

Hi, I have a question, what's the difference between taking a picture of a quarter with a 1:1 macro lens, or a zoom lens, zoomed to make the quarter fit the screen to the same size as the 1:1 ratio macro lens? If the answer is nothing, because I would get the same result, then why would I need to purchase a macro lens? Thank you for your help. I'm trying to figure out if I can do macro photography with the lenses I already have, (16-35 24-70 & 70-200) I do not have a macro lens yet, but I'm thinking about buying the SONY FE 90mm F2.8 G OSS full-frame lens. Thank you.

The problem is you can’t actually get close enough to emulate a macro shot because of the focusing distance the lenses have. That’s the space between your sensor and the subject where the lens can focus. So what happens is the larger your lenses zoom capability the larger the focussing distance. Now the new Tamron lenses have a crazy small focussing distance but it still can’t get you super macro close. An example this lens: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZyWZXqXd7SYrMksi=fXdD0JVfPBDi9NNC

what do you think about the minimum aperture of f16? It is to big for macro phtography. what about the cromatic aberration at f16?
