Looking back Tamyra should've won @ 2:08 - 2:15 was perfection😍 She jazzed up the whole song and stayed true to the original sound but made it her own! I love Tamyra Gray! I thought it would've been her and Kelly Clarkson in the final 2... but hey, Tamyra still did her thang!! Very beautiful job with this rendition🏆💫

I always said she was robbed. Looking back on it I think Tamyra knee they would not let her win. The politics of this show were obvious. The name of the show was AMERICAN Idol...surely they would not allow this Black woman win the first season. There was an episode I could remember when it was almost the end of the first season and Tamyra was getting compliments on every episode but this one particular episode I kinda guessed that Tamyra was sabotaged because they made her sing a weird song and the judges gave her a bad review and her face was not of just disappointed. I could tell she already knew they were setting it up for the white girl to win it all. There was no way Tamyra shouldn't have won. Her voice was the strongest out of everyone's. She sung Kelly under the table EVERY WEEK.

Nonsense. Black contestants won the next two seasons!!! She got voted off because she was splitting voters with Kelly, had her worst week of the finals while the others had their best that week. Just a freak occurrence that happened to white contestants (like Daughtry) as well.

Tamyra and Kelly def should have been the final two!! It's crazy to think of how different Kelly's life might have been if Tamyra didn't sing New Attitude on the final four episode. She had the best performance of the season with a house is not a home the week before and then loses to Nikki McKibbin (rip) on her one bad week. Wish I saw more of her

This was by far the best performance of "Big Band Night" on AI season one...Tamyra was cut way too soon...this began a tradition of mind-bogglingly early eliminations of tremendous talents on the show, including, mostly famously, those of Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson. Luckily Chris and Jennifer became superstars anyhow, but what ever happened to Tamyra Gray?

I know this is two years old, but I hope you know…she was in the Tony-Award Winning Broadway cast of Once on this Island as the FIRST FEMALE Papa Ge, the demon of death. I saw her myself, front row, and she was UNRECOGNIZABLE. She was BRILLIANT! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You will see her again soon. No doubt.
