wow that solo cello on Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of the most melodious segments i have ever heard. Absolutely beautiful.

I watched this movie 20 year ago, remembered the cello clearly after I walked out from the cinema. That was the first time heard the name of Yoyo Ma.

fantastic year for original scoring! anyone could win! Tan Dun deserved it but i can still recall Chocolat and Gladiator's score, and especially Morricone's Malena theme.

he didn't prepare the speach script, but Yo Yo suggested his to do so just before the ceremony, he is very humble.

@@l_a_u_y8916Gladiator is a good movie but didn't deserve that Best Picture over Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon that year. Hollywood still wasn't ready for unconventional winner that time, the same situation with another Ang Lee's movie, Brokeback Mountain which should won Best Picture over Crash in 2006.
