I have the Dunu Falcon Ultra, Simgot EA1000, and the Origin. 1. Falcon Ultra has the most bass energy, and beautiful and non fatiguing treble. It’s very musical and imaging is great. My only nitpick is the bass has not as good resolution as the other two. 2. EA1000 has good bass resolution, and good resolution in the mids. Vocals are quite full because of the fullness in mid bass, but on certain tracks, the elevated upper mids could slightly smear balance in the vocals. It’s also the most dynamic of the bunch. 3. The Origin is the most neutral, with a little lifted treble, but the vocal on the Origin is very natural. Resolution is surprisingly good from bass to mids to the treble. The problem with the Origin is a little lack of fullness. With a slight EQ in the mid bass (PEAK filter 2dB at 200Hz with Q factor =0.7) the sound becomes significantly more dynamic and significantly more musical. And with a slight decrease in treble (HIGH SHELF -2dB at 6000Hz and W factor 0.5), the overall sound becomes extremely natural. After this setting, it’s my favorite of the three IEMs.

So happy to hear you say this, I told people I didn't notice a difference between the nozzles and was told there must be something wrong with my ears. 😂
@TheHonestAudiophileАй бұрын
I have confirmed with several reviewer friends who said that they didn't hear a difference if much at all so it isn't just our ears.

Nice review. I think that the point of the filters is so that you can create your own filters by choosing different meshes and tuning papers.
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
This is on the Origin product overview "Adjust The Tuning As you like: Tanchjim Origin has three sets of replaceable tuning nozzles. The nozzles have different-density acoustic nozzle filters that help the user adjust the output to their liking. The inner cavity of these filters is slightly different bringing noticeable adjustments to the output quality. Play around with them and find your perfect sound with the Tanchjim Origin." Yes you can tweak yourself but the intention from Tanchjim is that the tuning filters made a difference.

Actually, I put together this review tour with Tanchjim themselves. Danny is supposed to participate, but hasn't reviewed it yet. We hope to see a video from him soon about these.

I have Origin and after the burn in I liked it, it's basically a Studio 4 with more midbase, air and organic
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your impressions. I would take a Studio 4 over the Origin every day, the Studio 4 is more accurate with tone and timbre and is more neutral natural.

Thanks for all the great reviews you made! I’m new to the IEM world and I’m looking for an IEM that is up to 100$ and will suit best for piano practice. I’m playing the piano and when practicing on my digital piano I’m using headphones (DT770 80ohm / DT990) with very high quality VST (300GB of sampled grand piano). I’m after a great sound stage and very detailed and accurate bass, mid and treble. I tend to like a warm sound signature and having a little bit more bass it’s fine (as long as it controlled). I have an old AMP DAC which sounds good to my ears (didn’t tried too much stuff haha) audio dg NFB11 but I’m not sure it will be good for IEM.

My go to is the Tin Hifi T2 if you want a little more warmth the T2 mkii

Yes the FC4 is a good pairing for the T2. I also like the FC3

Hey dave I was thinking if getting into midfi and I'm looking at the hype4 vs the Mangird Tops. Which do you think I should get/any other recommendations?
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
Depends on your sound signature preference. Another option to consider is the ThieAudio Oracle mkiii.

@@TheHonestAudiophile I’ve been really into EDM but I also daily rock and indie music. I was thinking something that brings life to drum and bass while also giving some love to guitar strings and vocals? Technical performance seems to be a non-issue at this price range anyways.
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
@gaphs879 personally I'd go with the Oracle mkiii but the Hype 4 is fun with EDM as well.

How IS compared with Blessing 3?
@TheHonestAudiophileАй бұрын
Haven't heard the Blessing 3 since I reviewed it. If memory serves me correctly, the Blessing 3 is slightly more forthright in presentation, has a wider, deeper stage with slightly better imaging, note weight, tone and timbre is similar. Keep in mind I am going off memory and didn't do a side by side comparison, been quite a while since I heard the B3.

can we expect your review on duna falcon ultra ?

If the funds become available or a DUNU Falcom Ultra is provided for review, I will be glad to listen and review it.
@Voider62112 ай бұрын
Oh wow, that was pretty quick after my suggestion haha. I do agree that pricing seems to be this set's biggest bottleneck. $260 is a tough sell with all the good single DD offerings around $180-220 out there atm, never mind hybrids. Great review!
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
I could swallow the price easier if the filters made a significant difference. I was already planning on the Origin review for this week 😁
@thomaskuhn65412 ай бұрын
Thanks for the review Dave. Is the Kato still relevant given that it's been out for a while, what's your preference in the single DD space (for your tuning tastes)? Glad I didn't buy the Origin, it was on my short list.
@TheHonestAudiophile2 ай бұрын
15:14 Kato comparison in the video and yes I still believe it is relevant.
@3ildcardКүн бұрын
With KATO/Kadenz you better wait for a sale. Take aside the gimmicky accessories you'll never use, the price is steep for what they offer. Its not bad but its just not worth 190$ in todays market for a single DD.
@matusjurcik6974Ай бұрын
and vs Jessica Alba? Ehm sorry I mean Meze alba 😁
@TheHonestAudiophileАй бұрын
Tanchjim Origin is more neutral leaning, doesn't have near as much bass impact, warmth as the Alba. The Origin has slightly better details and resolution.
