Tandem SN-4 Test Flight

A quick edit of a couple of test flights of the Tandem plane design, SN-4. This is a 1/2 scale version of a tandem wing VTOL that I am working on. This version is intended to test the wing configuration, motor performance and correlation to the design model analysis. I'm really please with the results so far. Both test flights were over 30 minutes on 3700 mah batteries.

Want with longer wings

This version would be nice with some longer wings. However, its being used for testing a design that will eventually be a VTOL with tip mounted motors so shorter wings are an advantage. They will require less structure and are sizes for a specific wing loading to reduce drag at cruise.

@@DefiantWings I know but I’d want to build this just as regular pusher. It’s just cool looking and obviously very stable vertically.

@@northernfpv9562 this one would benefit from longer wings to stabilize the roll a bit and help with the torque roll. With the 9” prop I couldn’t launch over 40% throttle. 8” was better for launching.

Thx man! Yeah it’s a great place to fly. It’s my favorite place to maiden a plane because it’s so wide open. We can park in the middle and fly in any direction we need too. It’s a cow pasture so you have to be careful where you step 🤣

I have had several people interested in this plane. It’s a fairly complex build and a lot of cutting. If I can figure out how to simplify it I might consider a kit. But it won’t be anytime soon. I have too much on my plate right now

It’s a SunnySky 2216/1100 with a 9x6 APC prop.
