4:52 Tangent made a great likeness to real windows on the cupola. Most other companies don't care about how realistic those windows look.

Wow, So beautiful. I've really been impressed with Tangent. Just as high quality, correct models one can get in my opinion.

I keep an eye out for your updates. Always so professional and informative. I was at a Train Show last weekend and Spring Creek Models had a whole bunch of Tangent stuff along with these Cabooses. I pick one up - very nice models. Keep the Videos coming!

Great products!! Not sure about dropping $100+ on a caboose. Maybe if they make Santa Fe.

What determines which color end light should be on?
@ck78132 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Tom. Great question! Locomotives used to have classification lights (red, white and green) someone on the front of the locomotive. The green light signaled it was a regularly scheduled train, the white light meant the train was an "extra" that was not scheduled but in use due to demand and the red light indicated the end/rear of a train. Some locomotives being used for pushing duties needed the red light. Otherwise, the cabooses had, at minimum, a red light. I am not 100% sure why the IC included a green and red signal on their cabooses when they were quickly phased out to the FRED (flashing rear end device). You can do an internet search on "locomotive classification lights" and you will find a lot of information. Some H.O. scale trains, like ScaleTrains.com have working classification lights on their locomotives. Athearn is starting to incorporate them as well.

Do you have a recommend reading list that you use for IC?

White River publications has several books about the Illinois Central (Gulf) railroad. Honestly, your best bet is to just go to eBay and search for "Illinois Central book" and see what pops up.

All of those fine details are awesome, but they’re just begging to be damaged and broken off over time. And it WILL happen.
