Tangental tool holder in use.

I made a video about building a tangental tool holder for Emma's tool making competition which was limited to twenty minutes, as a consequence, I didn't show them in operation. So, here they are in use.

I use one of those for the majority of my turning and wouldn't change for all the tea in, no wait, make that whiskey in Scotland. I have tried several different designs, I even made a copy of the original Victorian one from the patent drawing. I too grind both ends but put a different nose radius on either end for when I want to get into a sharper corner. Keep up the good work.

Nice demo! I was playing around with my one earlier in the week and took the deepest cut I've ever taken, 1/4" DOC with a 1/4 bit! Definitely fun to see how far they can be pushed :) Have a good one!

As a novelty, quite interesting. But, that's about it.
