it's the way the theme completes and repeats all variations only at the conclusion and goosebumps ensue, the throat gets tight, and the eyes well...music from an era when children could fearlessly walk alone outside where they would, where phones didn't follow us or track our whereabouts, where we spent time with one another, face to face, eye to eye, and where we could hear our own thoughts when we stared at the ceiling from our beds and considered a future that looked nothing like this. nothing at all. music from an era when music was carefully chosen from among an unaffordable variety and paid for with cash, sweat-stained bills crushed in shallow jeans pockets on the way to the record store; music that was listened to, studied, internalized, and shared, and deeply loved. music that was used over the landline phone with first loves to express emotions for which there were no words yet available. music that stayed special and solid and real, and not the present online wallpaper of immaterial sound wiping away all meaning in a wash of infinite tunes from everyone across all eras available in an instant at any instant.

I first discovered TD in 1981 with the awesome soundtrack for Michael Mann's "Thief". I followed them ever since. I saw them live in 1986, they did not disappoint. If you have come here because of the "Stranger Things" tv show then check out their other soundtracks for "Thief" (brilliant film and soundtrack), "The Keep", "Wavelength", "Near Dark" (another great film and soundtrack), "Flashpoint", the list goes on. For me their best work was during the Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Johannes Schmoelling, line up. Froese was truly gifted.

One of my fave TD albums and fave films. TD have done some amazing soundtracks like THE KEEP,and LEGEND,creating atmosphere that lends itself and enhances scenes, but FIRESTARTER is probably well up there with the fusion of sound with image contributing to a net experience that neither could achieve alone. TD movies become something peculiar unto themselves. Wages of Fear only makes sense to me because of the Sorcerer soundtrack which would not have been quite the same without the eminently watchable Roy Scheider. So many golden moments in an aural landscape by possibly the master magicians of the electronic synthesizer. I can only think of Vangelis off the top of my head who comes anywhere near doing the same thing.

How I wish I could've hugged him, expressed my gratitude to him for being the great musical Artist he was, and maybe, gained the luxury of his autographed picture of him and myself. {Sigh.} Well...all I can do is extol his great contributions to us *all,* in music and its resultant thought, as the fantastic artist he was. Thank you for posting this. I had the cassette tape a long time ago and of course in CD print, its' hard to find and if you do, it's very expensive. I've really enjoyed this soundtrack.

Just like to say thank you for this, for allowing fans who discover the music later and when it's difficult to find anywhere else. Much appreciated.

Thank-you for posting this, I just finished watching this on Hollywood suite and it's been awhile since I first seen it at the theatre, but the soundtrack is great like all of their soundtracks especially the 80's output of classic albums!

One of the more Iconic later day TD album/soundtracks. A classic theme which weaves thru out the recording. It will haunt you forever...in a good way.

Great music from one of my favourite bands TD Thank you so much!
