These cable-cutter cutter boxes are pretty neat. It's an upfront cost, but it piggybacks off your wifi, so there's no additional subscription. I gave up cable a while ago, but I have older family members who switched to Roku after their bills got too high. It's been a long, painful learning experience getting them used to it, but it's a lot of content for a lot cheaper.

I think you can just plug in a keyboard into the usb port and it should just work since Android supports external keyboards out of the box

No.... First there was local tv then cable then sattellite tv then etc all the way up to Tanggula. We started out with NO tv and then in 1956 we got one local black and white channel, never had cable. Got a 10 ft dish in 1981 for about $3000. Last week we got rid of paying for tv again with the Tanggula. Paid $375 Canadian for it. Unsubscribed to $130/mo netflix etc.
