Fun fact: the diamond cutters are a reference to metal gear solid, specifically the elite members of FOXHOUND Smithy the Lion is a reference to Vulcan Raven, being the largest and wielding a gatling gun Claire Voyance the Howler Monkey is a reference to Psycho Mantis, both sharing the same role in their team (her name is a pun of clairvoyance, which is seeing into the future and/or enhanced senses) Slinger the Ocelot is a reference to Revolver Ocelot, both having skill with dual revolvers and both wear a beret, plus in the 4th part, Slinger making fingerguns and saying “you’re pretty good!” is also a reference to Revolver Ocelot in MGS4 Mimic the Octopus is a reference to Decoy Octopus, both being able to disguise and both are infiltrators And Whisper the Wolf is a reference to Sniper Wolf, a lone skilled sniper, and her personality is similar to that of Quiet from MGS5, both being a female sniper of few words who form a bond with another character (for Whiper it’s Tangle, for Quiet it’s Venom Snake)

Hiya! As far as Mimic's mouth goes, it's actually a beak, and the lines around his mouth seem to actually be wear-and-tear lines often seen on older bird characters or other animals with hard bills, such as the octopus, in other media. Cracks and that kind of thing. That combined with the shape of his nose actually makes his face look like a skull, though I can definitely see the stitching-like quality, giving him a creepy doll vibe. Makes sense since the slimy mollusk only views other people and those whose forms he takes as playthings. The sicko. Loving your reactions to Sonic IDW! Can't wait for more! :)

@Master Ryo Sakurai It would be worth at least checking out the 2020 annual dubs, because those show “offscreen” stuff that’s happening during the metal virus, showing what’s happening during this apocalypse that the characters we’re following during certain issues aren’t witnessing
