Tangmere makes an unscheduled stop at Oxenholme

The Pathfinder Cumbrian Fells Express (03/09/22) was expected to pass through Oxenholme station. A passenger on the train became unwell and the train called at the station for medical assistance.
While the train was waiting the loco received some attention from the fitters, given the steam leak on departure it was not a success.
Fortunately for the passenger who needed medical assistance the ambulance arrive quickly.
As I was waiting for the bus back to Kendal the ambulance departed, still showing blue lights so hopefully that's a good sign.

What an excellent restart from Oxenholme ! No slipping, and the driver in absolute control. Wonderful !

I remember walking up the stairs from the down platform at Woolwich Arsenal station, must have been 1966, l was 3, and a big green monster came chuffing out of the tunnel. "Tangmere" said my Dad.

Its good to see that despite its nut and bolt overhaul, its still the same smokey ole bucket its always been. Not ruined - Excelent!

That was the air brake pump that was receiving adjustment 🔧. Inside cylinder drain cock sticking open (an issue usually with LMS locos), but a very brisk departure, although probably with the diesel assisting

Wow 😮 those white smoke in front of that big black steam locomotive, a sight to behold. I just loved 🥰 it. Particularly that chugging and acceleration towards the final part after the stoppage. What a beautiful railway locomotive and line. By the way. Which country’s railway is this? As most of the countries across globe have stopped using steam engines.

I have always thought the Southern type of Pacific deserved a more substantial whistle (a chime maybe) than the pea whistle that they had .
