I want to tell you something that I think you may enjoy hearing about. This past Monday, I went on a school field trip to a nature park type place to collect data about the stream that runs through it (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen amount, etc.). This was for the chemistry class at my high school, which is specialized for math and science. To help the chemistry teacher, the engineering teacher came too. One thing you need to know is that this engineering teacher really enjoys fishing. So while we were there, the engineering teacher found a piece of string and a bobber, such as one you would find on a fishing rod, underneath a bridge. Then throughout the day, he literally took a stick that was in the general shape of a fishing rod, tied the string and the bobber to it, bent something (I'm not sure what, potentially metal or plastic) in the shape of a hook, and made his own fishing rod. The best part of this is that during the time we ate lunch (next to one of the designated water sampling sites) he decided to try to use the fishing rod to catch a fish, and a fish was successfully caught using that fishing rod, which as of a few hours prior, didn't exist. None of the materials that went into the making of that fishing rod were brought into the park by anyone on the trip. Because you technically aren't supposed to fish in this park, I'm not going to give the names of the teachers or the location of the park, but I did want to share this story.

For the question about steam games, I've been playing a lot of Peggle lately because my friend got me into it, LOL Outside of that, massive vouch for both Hades 1 and 2! Very very fun games, every character is immensely attractive, and you can pet the dog (at least in Hades 1. I think you can pet the... frog? in Hades 2)

i'm sure you got TONS of games now on your radar from the talk, but i just had to mention two of my favorite puzzle games !! chants of sennaar, absolutely incredible language game where you wake up in a place where you don't speak the language, but as you go along, you pick up the different glyphs and start defining the language. each level in the tower has a different language to it - and how it builds up your knowledge is amazing. a very quick 2-3 day game, well worth the time. stunning soundtrack too! second is the submachine universe! it started as a free point and click online, the dev brought it onto steam in a fun combo thing that's such a treat. everything is made by one person (except the music, he's got a buddy who does that part) - art, animation, story, mechanics etc, and it's been so cool to see it go from lil flash games to something as immense as this final version

If you want to learn how to terraform learn how to do in with WorldEdit first. Being able to do it in creative with those tools will give you a lot of fast practice and the skills translate to vanilla survival. I never thought I’d do survival terraforming but I developed an eye for it with WorldEdit and now it’s my favorite kind of Minecraft building

1 block extra should be enough. Slimes are only 2.0808 blocks wide and spawn in the middle of the block. So they would go into the next block by 0.5404 blocks, nowhere near a second block. Of course having an extra block dug out won't hurt.

answering the 1:16:00 question,i think chest dont open with a block above mainly because at the very beginnning of the beginnings, one of the things that could be done as protection in servers was to claim terrain, so that other players couldnt break or place blocks. they could still interact with them, a block in a chest was basically a closed chest using only that plugin. of course it makes 0 sense now, and in fairness not even them had a lot but..

Those plugins came way later than that game mechanic. Most likely it just seemed logical to not be able to open chests with a block above, but not being able to stack chests was too big of a draw back so they made it solid blocks only

I've been playing Planet Crafter since very early access (nearly 2 years) and it's my second all time favorite game. Amazing for casual play. As both a pro and con, I would most describe it as a very meditative and introspective game. Great alone, probably good with a buddy, but it would not make good content. It has a lot of jank. There's a ton of visual glitches, hitbox terrain clipping, and overall rendering wonkiness. Inventory can be an absolute nightmare (not Void Train bad, but similar problems), nothing stacks making resource gathering pretty grindy. Progress is intentionally a little slow as you are almost meant to not notice the small differences over time and have to think back to how much the world has changed. It's super well paced, but it's a slow pace. I also think it's important to note that automation is super limitted and pretty late game. I honestly don't think it should even be in the automation catagory on Steam.

It used to be that Iron Golems could be knocked back by punching and back in Season 3 Impulse built a game called "Iron Ball" where an iron golem acted essentially as a soccer ball you had to push into a goal. I wish that was still possible, but alas.

I think you would love the game Empires of the Undergrowth. It is one of my favourite strategy/tower defense-ish games, and very unique in the way it plays. I think it is done very well, especially the later levels. It is single player game and might be something you enjoy playing off camera more.
