Airlines are supertrash these days. Like every other business system, because corporations are allowed to run unchecked. At the c-suite level, there's basically a handful of people that either own multiple things or are heavily interconnected with others, you either have "resting laurels" types or companies that have to cut corners to keep up with the previous. That's the issue with unchecked markets. When scumbags reach the top, they have no other option but to "eat" more. Dragon's disease - in all its meaning, from the fact that the "coin" loses its value inside that "pile", to the fact that they go out and "get more and more", pillaging and burning villages left and right. At this point, either things change because of a massive and unprecedented collapse or we get smart and elect people who put the whip on these defective members of society. And don't get me wrong, i'm not some nutcase who wants the other side of the coin. Capitalism is good. I lived through the other garbage and it's just as bad as it's about to get now - only it was much faster and rotted faster. We just need more laws with bite. As is, even if we made a ruckus for Scar and the other fine folk in his position, it won't change a thing. The top will say "w're sorry - against a white backdrop with a small violin sound in the bg" while the bottom will keep doing everything as they did before, because there's only one bottom line - fill the dragon's pile. Proof being the fact that there's thousands of stories like his, and more. I mean, i remember when a major company with a greek letter name said "they'd change their ways" after a recent, major media upheaval. Yeah... they didn't. Not even in the slightest. They can't change their ways any more than a woolly mammoth can get out of a swamp (which is where we usually find them in pristine conditions).

1:18:18 LOL. I started the Friday situation... 😂 After wandering the convention center, I had spotted the Hermits heading down the escalator to the main floor and at the back of the group was Skizz. So I approached Skizz and was like "I see Hermits" and he was like "Yes you do!" Then I got shy about talking to Pearl because I could see they were going places and didn't want to be overly obsessed given the meet and greet later that day. And Skizz assured me I was not and was like "I can introduce you." And so at the bottom of the escalators, Skizz got Pearl to greet me for the first time. And that's how the Hermits got held up! 😂 Anyway, it was great to meet the Hermits and their friends at TwitchCon! 💛

Scar's whole air travel experience is exactly why I take the train whenever it's a reasonable option. As underfunded and neglected as Amtrak is, and even though for a long distance trip like PDX-SAN it can't compete with flying on travel time... it's still largely a humanized experience, something that's been practically destroyed by the airlines, TSA security theater, and companies like HMSHost that have a near monopoly on airport concessions (PDX excepted, thank the goddesses.)

I wonder how the accessibility is for the amtrak is. I know a lot of subway stations that don't have elevators and require usage of stairs. Idk how trains work cos I never been on one

@@rachelkim4457 With a disclaimer that it's not something I've personally had to navigate so I'm probably missing something.. Most stations are accessible. Here out west (CA/OR/WA,) the only inaccessible one is Antioch-Pittsburg CA, but that's being replaced next year by a new one in nearby Oakley. Only part of the train may be accessible, as most of Amtrak's rolling stock was designed before the ADA, let alone before Olmstead v LC. (I also understand that the "accessible" restrooms/bedrooms on this older equipment are still a bit cramped for people using larger power chairs). The new Venture cars have aisles that are 32" wide at their narrowest, but on any older equipment it'd be somewhere between difficult and impossible taking a mobility aid between cars. (Ventures are currently replacing older equipment on various routes in the midwest and the San Joaquins in California, and will be coming to the Cascades in the northwest in 2026. Their electric cousins, the Airo, are on order for the northeast corridor). Existing double decker cars also require climbing stairs to reach the upper level and pass between cars. (These are the Superliners, used on all long distance routes except a few on the east coast they're too tall for, and the California Cars and Surfliners, used on most runs of the California state routes. Amtrak did recently open a request for proposals to replace the Superliners, and the specs call for onboard lifts to allow access to the entire train).

Every time I hear about experiences with TSA it's pretty evident their complete lack of standards in their agents, some airports can be heaven and some hell just due to luck on what kind of agent you encounter or even their mood that particular day. And of course as any profession with some kind of power it tends to attract all those types looking for a power trip more than anything else. Really awful to hear how poorly Scar was treated, those folks should be scrubbing the toilets by hand not dealing with the public

Scar needs a posse for travel I think. A stern person to just mean-mug people who are rude, a person who knows all the laws and regs and ADA stuff, a medical person, an equipment manager, and maybe a couple of dudes with ear pieces and sunglasses that look official.

if it makes you feel any better, i flew home from san diego the day before scar with alaska in a wheelchair and had a good experience. granted i'm ambulatory and don't need as many accommodations but they were still checking in on me seeing how they could help. i think it really just depends on the people staffed at the time

Thinking Scar’s TSA story was the worst versus hearing the Alaska Airlines story … that person sounds so horrific, and to swear at him for such a niche issue that can hardly, in any way, shape or form, be his fault. It’s a sad fact, though, that nothing will likely be done about that, even though it sounds like she’s breaking so many rules on top of blatant anti-social behaviour. San Diego Airport is just... weird to say the least, and I'm sorry to hear that Scar had such a rough time there. 😢 I second the cramped spaces past security... they also made us board my Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 back home by walking down a jet bridge to a metal ramp down to the apron, then walk across the apron and board another metal ramp back onto the plane... 🙄

If someone’s assigned seat is upper tier, all that’s needed is switch name cards, not two whole teams needing new shirts. 🤷‍♀️ It really is an elegant solution.

You need to get recordings from as many hermits as you can. Get from each one a sound for "little bit hangry" and a sound for "I'm 'bout to cause a scene". Then organise those into an escalating order of customer annoyance sounds and chose however many you need for the game play. You would get hermits interrested in playing if they thought they would hear their recorded sound in-game.

My Ideal MCC line up if we're doing 8 Games is: Build Mart Grid Runners Sands of Time Railroad Rush Bingo Meltdown Ace Race Hole in the Wall I like having a couple of like parkoury or PVP games in there, but I think Meltdown has potential for people to pop on lower skills, and Ace Race does as well. But the others on there are like the best team worky games and require communication and discussion. Like Sands to me is the best MCC game since it requires most of the core Minecraft skills.

I'm catching up late, but... I totally agree with your feelings about wanting less focus on agility-parkour games in MCC. I don't normally watch it because it is very "sporty" and that's not my interests, but the rare times I've seen things like Build Mart and Railroad Rush, those have been the things that actually got me engaged. I'd LOVE to see more Build Mart, so if you did something similar on Hermitcraft, that would be cool and I'd watch it :) That is all for now... Only 44 minutes in, but I'm enjoying your stream.

I feel like a proper setup, knowing your kitchen, and communication agreement is important, so the time the customer is being prepared, is the perfect time to do so.
