Taninim river meets the Mediterranean Sea נחל תנינים במופע מרהיב בשפך לים התיכון

Taninim river drains around 200 square kilometers in the northern parts of Israel. It originaties near Ramot Menashe and flows into the Mediterranean Sea between Kibbutz Maagan Michael and the Arab town Jisr A(l)Zarqa.
Following significant rains, the discharge of the river was very high on February 16th, 2024. Its flow into the Mediterranean Sea during the sunset was a magnificent sight.
Also seen is the historic ottoman bridge that was built in 1898 to honor the visit of Wilhelm II, the last German Emperor and King of Prussia. The bridge was built to enable his convoy to travel along the shore from Haifa to Jerusalem. It was built on the ruins of a Roman bridge.
The bridge underwent rehabilitation works that revived its glorious days. The works were concluded in 2020.
נחל תנינים מנקז כ-200 קמ"ר מאזור רמות מנשה עד לשפך לים התיכון בין קיבוץ מעגן מיכאל לעיירה ג'סר א(ל)זרקא.
בעקבות גשמים משמעותיים, הנחל זרם בעוז לקראת שקיעה ב-16 בפברואר 2024. זרימתו לים התיכון, והתערבבות מימיו החומים עם מי הים התכולים הייתה מראה מרהיב.
נראה גם הגשר העות'מאני ההיסטורי שנבנה בשנת 1898 לכבוד ביקורו של וילהלם השני, קיסר גרמניה ומלך פרוסיה האחרון. הגשר נבנה כדי לאפשר לשיירתו לנסוע לאורך החוף מחיפה לירושלים.
הגשר המקורי היה רומי, והגשר העות'מאני נבנה בתוואי שלו ועל שרידיו. לימים מצבו הפיזי התדרדר מאד.
הגשר עבר עבודות שיקום שהחיו את ימי הזוהר שלו. העבודות נעשו בשיתוף: המועצה לשימור אתרים, רשות ניקוז כרמל, מועצה אזורית חוף הכרמל, רשות הטבע והגנים ורשות העתיקות, והסתיימו ב-2020.
