Germany, France, America, and the UK don't feel comfortable losing in front of Russia or China, they feel obligated to maintain that illusion of NATO invulnerability. NATO tanks are used differently and are therefore constructed differently. However, this competition is tailored to eastern tanks. It is quite possible that NATO could lose there. But I would like to try it out. I cold war we tested T72 from GDR. Not bad but we had no use for it.

Монарх ZTZ 96B is based on ZTZ 85IIAP, however the structure of T72 provided some reference to the design of our 3 generation tanks, we should thanks Romania, they sold a T72M to China in 1980s, and the design of its suspension system was used by the prototype of ztz 96. But we can't say that type 96 is a copy of T72.

максут нургалиев Нет, от Т72 основа это уже Type 99. Но он пока на соревнованиях не представлен. Скорее всего появится, когда там будут Т90А участвовать. Я лично очень жду такого перехода. Было бы интересно. :) Нет, отдельные скопированные элементы от Т72 на Type 96 конечно присутствуют(та же пушка, например), но основа ходовой все же глубокая модернизация Т55.

максут нургалиев Т-80 нигде масштабно на вооружении не стоит. Слишком дорогой и капризный вышел. Потому бессмысленно. Та же линейка Т-90А - выходец из и прямой наследник Т-72. Да и опять же, рекламный момент никто не отменял. И уж коли нашим покупателям вооружения новые Т-90А дорого брать, хоть Т-72 до уровня Б3 отмодернизировать, оценив самостоятельно и прочувствовав разницу в условиях приближенных к боевым. Благо наши как раз сейчас всем, кто свое не смог привезти выдают для участия Т-72Б3. :)

NATO tanks are much more armored, what makes them heavier and slower. They don't have a chance in this type of competition. But i like to see Polish PT-16 in this competition, it is modernized version of T-72. Its weight is less than 50 tons and a maximum speed is 74 km/h.
