Thanks for the video. The one thing I'm interest the most was the water taste between the APEC and the tankless system. I didn't get to see that. I just installed the APEC ROES-50 system because I was tired of buying, carrying, and recycling. The APEC water system tastes amazing just like bottled water from Costco or Aquafina, not that crappy Arrowhead bottle water.

@@TheRealDavil indeed, i even drank out of hoses as a teen. Realistically though, I'm genuinely concerned about the harmful toxins, so I'm researching for the most affordable tankless system that delivers quality results. The toxins i ultimately care about are chlorine fluoride lead arsenic micro plastics.

@03Lorac I put in a whole house filter that covers all that the other day, dropped the tds number to about 300, and my girlfriend says the water smells better. So that is an option too if you can do some basic plumbing.

The fridge filter or any water filter system will not remove the dissolved solids which is why the TDS doesn't drop. Only the RO membrane does this. Most of the dissolved solids is calcium and magnesium which is not a bad thing. It all depends what you are trying to remove

Hey Davil, great video, one of the only of its kind on KZbin actually. Any update on the Waterdrop tankless system? Do filters last about as long as advertised? I've read a lot that TDS reading varies a lot in the first 10-20 seconds after the system sits for a while, anything noteworthy that you've seen?
@TheRealDavil

Thanks! I've replaced the filters twice since I made this video. The ro one once, so yea they do last as long as expected and the unit beeps when they need to be replaced. I haven't really noticed any increase in particulates in the water either.

Tankless RO systems have RO creep. If you were to run it for 10 seconds instead of right away, you would have had a very higher TDS reading. After about a minute the TDS reading goes down again. This happens with all tankless systems.

Hi Davil. Thanks for the video. I want to go tankless as I have very little space under my sink. The difference may be due to types of filters ... etc. My tank Ro System has a mineral filter. My tap water from Detroit is pretty good with around 123 ppm. @guidedbygreen1480

If you have a water softener, then you likely have hard water. Hard water is water rich minerals such as calcium and magnesium. A water softener reduces these minerals and replaces them with high levels of sodium. Which is why the water feels slimy. Now an RO SYSTEM removes all disolved solids, including your added from softener sodium now. I believe the added sodium is no good for a baby or anyone to drink, and thus an RO system is beneficial. Water is at a PH of 7 (not 8), and RO water is slightly acidic because of it's void of minerals. So I advise that you add US calcium carbonate remineralization filter as the final filter on your system.

@@hellapellanyc6465 just like your dishwasher discharge, your RO waste/drain line needs to be on a high loop. High loop is when you have the tubing looping above your sink, tacked up at the highest point in your undersink cabinet. by doing this, you are ensuring that you have no black flow coming from your drain and all of your waste is going where it needs to be. before high loops were allowed, an air gap was required. in this circumstance, a high loop is fine.

most filters dont reduce TDS much/efficently, if at all, that's what Ro is for.

Well the thing is drinking water with less than 50 is generally not all that good for you according to some sources. I'm actually considering remineralizing my water after reading some information.
@jseagate84
@jseagate84 3 жыл бұрын
I would not even use a RO if I wanted to keep it that high I'd just use 5 micron filter and a carbon filter with a carbon block filter then a 1 micron filter cost may $150.00 to set up

Have someone put tap water in a glass and filtered water in another. You probably won't be able to see much of a difference.

I'd add a mineral tank to add minerals to the water. Otherwise the RO water will leach minerals like calcium from your body. At least that's what I read somewhere.
@TheRealDavil
@TheRealDavil 3 жыл бұрын
The whole leeching minerals thing is somewhat questionable. There is plenty of bottled water with lower tds and even pitcher filters like 0 water that make it 0 and there aren't really any issues with those.
@swamivandermerwe

There is no leaching of minerals...it is a fraud theory. Distilled water prevents disease,so does RO water ,BigPharma cant make money from healthy unvaccinated organic humans.

Who is this guy. Every city has different quality water. I live in Southern California the weather here is quite bad. Systems without tanks never work because we have so many contaminants in the water. Before you listen to a guy like this what’s his resume when it comes to the water industry.
@TheRealDavil
@TheRealDavil 2 жыл бұрын
Ok... I just showed the difference between a tankless system and one with one using a tds tester. I don't need a resume to do that. You can do whatever you want but this was my result, tankless worked better.
@brucebreger2409
@brucebreger2409 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealDavil then you have no real knowledge of the water industry. Every ZIP Code in the United States has different quality water. There’s even a national database that will show you contaminant on everyone’s water. Tankless systems never ever work in Southern California.

Who is this commentator? It’s literally a review on KZbin 😂 if you want scientific data perhaps you should read the manufacturer literature and inspect your own city drinking water quality reports. And don’t watch consumer reviews on KZbin 😆
