51:30 When Jeremy teleported to the wraith attached to the phantom, that's what we call a 'revert grab.' When you get reverted a checkpoint, you have a couple frames to input an action. (Board wraith, pick up weapon, enter vehicle, etc...) If timed correctly with the revert, you can 'grab' whatever you were trying to get on the revert! Jeremy grabbed the wraith, you can pick up a weapon you previously didn't have, you can have a door instantly open....there's a multitude of things possible with a revert grab! This trick can be done on the majority of the halo games.

Clearly that means there is some kind of mechanic to reattach a manned wraith to a phantom. Just because it isn't something intended by the devs doesn't make it less impressive to discover.

To be fair, on LASO you can't really "lose" vehicles. You'll die long before the vehicle takes major damage, and any death/vehicle destruction will set you back a checkpoint.
