I sure am thankful for the hard-pressed producers of this documentary

The Ferdinand was at Kursk. Not the Elephant. The Elephant was a modified Ferdinand after Kursk.

Modified for combat on the Italian front. Which was extra hull armor a hull machine and smoke grenade launcher for Infantry defense since it had none during its trial run at kursk.

great piece, however I hate it when the sound is so damn low, even with your computer maxed, that you have to put on head phones just to hear it!!WTF

+Prog X I'd not noticed that before, thanks! Went back to check and the suspension makes it very obvious in retrospect.

The Nashorn wasn't built straight either by using the panzer 4 chassis it was a completely new chassis lengthened but the same width as the panzer 3! The Nashorn used parts from both vehicles to keep maintaining it easy. Quite alot of inaccuracies in this but it does seem quite old!

yep, volume way too low... of course listening to what they're saying maybe the low volume was meant to hide their ignorance... ;) I've seen so many heavy machinery "rebuilds" over the years, consisting of just a paint job, but Aberdeen still disappointed me especially with the Ferdinand...

nope despite the effectiveness of the hetzer. the crews hated them because they were cramped and they sat 1-2-3 beside the gun on the left hand side

They failed to put an MG in the Ferdinand the Elephant was the Upgrade with the added co aux MG 34! Small important bit of information completely missed out there about the Elephant

They forgot to tell the viewers that several angry German infantry were assigned to cover this type of tank so by the time the tank was disabled a lot of ivans had been culled out .

the stug III f/8 was a damn good tank lol..the german "light" tanks should have been a ton of panzer 3's....the m's and n's and even L's...the germans honestly learned all their good tank engineer from the czechs..they adopted a whole bunch of their models after 38.

This must be very old video republished. Reminds me of the pure crap that often on the History Channel. Much better going to new stuff like the Tank Museum, The Chieftain, or a number of other channels. They may interview experts but producers just ruin it totally.

@Brosk1s9 жыл бұрын
pudik67 they're actually Panzer IV/70(A)s, not Jagdtigers. Jagdtigers had similar size road wheels as the Jagdpanther, the Jadgtiger was just way bigger.
@lotharweisz40202 жыл бұрын
Donnerwetter!

The way these Nazi lovers describe German equipment you would think the Germans won WW2. Obviously none of these Nazi/ technology lovers understand war at the Operational level so ultimately there were other more subtle factors that were more important to winning war at the Operational level. BTW the Stug 3 was not " more than a match for the T34.." because the rotating turret of the T34 ( or any tank with a rotating turret) would be superior in most situations since you had to rotate the whole Stug3 to bring its gun to bear. Sometimes I wonder if these Nazi lovers are really disappointed that Hitler lost the war...
