You don't see the one-earpiece look in the studio because frankly not many vocalists are THIS GOOD. He knows precisely what he needs and goes for it to the n-th degree. Not many vocalists can match that sheer power, either, and even fewer the finesse.

Hey Tank, I'm usually not one to comment anything on here but I just wanted to let you know that your channel is my favorite and I love your videos. They're equally entertaining and informative and I discovered a bunch of awesome bands that I might have missed out on if it weren't for your channel. So, thank you for doing what you do. Keep up the great content. Much love from Austria :) PS: I would love to see you react to "Renegades" by Our Promise, some time in the future. I think you might like it :D

That was a goddamn banger! When I was younger, I didn't like "grandpa-metal"-bands, such as Blind Guardian. But in the latest years, I've enjoyed them more and more. Kinda like my relationship with red wine over the years :D Andthanks, Tank, for your awesome content!

Tank, great reaction. This album is being produced by Sir Joost van der Broek, who is Arjen Lucasson's right hand man and keyboard player. He also was the keyboard player in Floor Jansen's group After Forever. And there are 2 more Arjen connected folks. The new bass player for Guardian is Johan van Stratum who played in many of Arjen's projects and his wife, Marcela Bovio, is one of the backup singers.

@@Simba368986 Next one here, who thought the same: "was that Joost van den Broek, I just saw? Now I know. Thanks, Mike! Joost and Hansi know each other from working with Arjen. For the first Star One album, Arjen already had Floor, who was still singing with After Forever. And was still looking for a keyboarder. And Floor told him: "Our keyboarder could do it!" Asking Jost: "could you do this? Could you do that?" the answer was always: "Yep!" And Joost was only 20, I think. Try look for Star One "Live on earth". The whole video is here on YT. Last day of the tour, they decided to film it. This concert is epic! (And how I found Arjen, after looking for other projects, Floor was involved in. I had seen After Forever as an opening act for Nightwish, back in 2001 I think it was. And instantly bought their album "Decipher", during the break.)

What kills me about this video is just how effortless they make it look. Hansi looks like he's barely trying, but the vocals that come out are incredible. So with a September release, my gut tells me there's a fall European tour, and, fingers crossed, a spring/summer US tour in 2023.

Man Guardian are just being Guardian. Epic stuff, as always. So sitting back and fully enjoing is a solid and fully valid option :) But as you are on German wave, you could check this brand new song: SCHANDMAUL - Königsgarde (ft. Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz). Just look at the featured artists and make your conclusions.

Schandmaul are fantastic! A cousin of mine married his wife to their songs. And I took pics on their wedding. (Including the wedding dance.) I contacted the band. Thomas called me back. I made that one pic a 60x90cm Poster and sent it down to the band. They all signed it. And posted it to my cousin. When they came back from their honeymoon, they found a parcel from their favourite band, adressed to them. They had no clue. It's hanging in the living room. Best weird idea I ever had. When my "to-be-daughter" got flute lessons at school, I asked Birgit about the flute she plays on "Frühlingsleier". Birgit answered me. And I bought her this type of a recorder.

Yes. I did hear that this song was based off of the book "American Gods" and I started listening to it on audible. I'm 8 chapters in and its a little confusing. After I'm done this book, I'm going to start the "Wheel of Time" because of Blind Guardian basing a song of that series. Also if I remember correctly I think "Deliver Us From Evil" is based off the Salem witch trials, and I want to read about that also. "And Then There Was Silence" is based off "The Iliad and the Odyssey" and that's also on the list of books. So many great stories being retold through music.

As there are so many good new releases lately and you concentrating on those anyway, this is not meant as a reaction suggestion, but rather a suggestion you might enjoy. Running Wild's Treasure Island is one of my all time favourite songs and I used to listen to both Blind Guardian and Running Wild a lot back in my youth. So if you like one, there's a high chance you might also like the other. Have fun and keep on showing us potentially interesting new songs.

WooooW already loving the new album from Guardians. only MY opinion and feeling!: This is one of rare "epic" songs, where the drums are used as background support and the main focus are the guitar plays. Only listening to the different paces and styles gives me the chills. Its hard to explain, because Guardians is a band which you have to feel for the vibes - ofc thats only my opinion!

This is a greatly produced sound, incredible esoteric lyrics, solos, and vocals--a majestic masterpiece for Blind Guardians. But all the drumming and riffs are softened by the fact that it is digital, it just doesn't have the heaviness and distortion due to "cleaning up" with digital and over-produced sounds. That's the reason people stick to original equipment. It doesn't have that eerie 80s/90s metal sound. Instead it sounds clean and decent.

Although this song could be referencing the American Gods novel, I wouldn't be surprised if this song was a commentary on United States history since the lyrics for “Deliver Us from Evil” make it clear it's about the Salem Witch Trials and written from the perspective of the accusers. That being said, I haven't yet been able to decipher the lyrics from this song. While “Deliver Us...” is more to my liking stylistically, I love how epic this sounds, and Blind Guardian have been great at epic-sounding music for a while now. I can't help but be reminded of Wheel of Time in particular. I'm really looking forward to this album!

Not a big fan of BG, but this vocal is perfect. And yeah, I knew that i'm not the only one using one in-ear in studio! Just kidding. For me it's essential to hear the air and some natural reverb, especially with mixed or head voice. With both in-ears in my case it's harder to control head resonance and a lot easier to overbreath and put extra pressure to the larynx.

If you're ever up to shining light on a not so famous band, I highly recommend the band Iotunn (Capital i, not lowercase L haha) with their song The Tower of Cosmic Nihility. The song sounds like if Be'lakor, Rivers of Nihil, and Leprous made a supergroup. Outstanding song and it's a 7 1/2 min journey. Sorry for being a month late, life has a way of making you forget all kinds of things! When you mentioned the layering reminded you of queen that made me happy because that's what inspired it, and also that you picked up on it relatively quick considering you have previously reacted to mostly live blind guardian. As someone else said, they're "a night at the opera" album was named after the queen album of the same title, and that's where hansi really started to get into crazy vocal layering. It's the chorus of hansi! And it's always done really well and imo is what makes it hard for me to know if I want reactors to do live or studio versions of their songs. I'm not good at noticing these things, but I know in the past I've read a number of comments that complained about the production quality on BG albums, and it seems like people seem to think working with Joost it sounds a lot better on the two singles that have been put out so far. Did you see the album art that got posted? It's by Peter Mohrbacher who does art for MtG and it's very cool. Anyways, thanks for the reaction and always putting out such great stuff!

Hey Tank, I'm gonna put on my head/neck anatomy/physiology nerd-hat for a moment. Auditory scientists believe the right ear is more attuned to speech and logic (discussion/topical argument) while the left ear is more in touch with music. I wouldn't put it past a German audio engineer to try to use this factoid, especially if the singer is striving for a more flowing and 'musical' style, or if they are struggling with rhythmic counterpoint, etc. ... Or maybe Hansi used to lean his right ear up against a full stack and it's basically reduced to 'decoration' (sorry, I wouldn't wish hearing loss on anyone, but it is a fairly common thing to deal with in the biz). Or maybe he tends to stand to the left of the drummer and he has some cymbal-crash-itis in that right ear? Nice song, really nice progression within the production. And if Hansi makes it look any easier, I am gonna cry. The man opens his mouth, and 'Majestic' flows out.

Can it really be that this channel has not done a reaction to Rammstein yet? The best reacter to pyro really has to react to the best pyro...

Yeah, for a few reasons... One, because I'm a huge fan of Rammstein and have seen everything they've ever released. And two, because their publisher is notorious about blocking and possibly copyright striking reactions, and I don't wanna risk it. We have checked out their two new videos on my Twitch stream, though.

@@TankTheTech good reasons, and thanks for responding. I'm new to your channel and like it :). Your perspectives on some of the live performances would have been cool. Have seen Rammstein live 8 times and going again this summer 😀

One of Germany finest. To bad Hansi broke up with Jon Schaffer, no more deamons and wizards. Which reminds me of, do a Reaktion on iced earth one of America’s finest. 🤘

Not sure if he wanted to, but basically he had to. With his shenanigans, Schaffer lost any good will with the german metal community (maybe with the exception of a few right-wing nutjobs), and that would certainly have transferred over to BG, if he hadn't.

@@Eluarelon American politics have nothing to do with Germany, at least the storm at the capitol. The other thing I can partly agree because of all the propaganda happening here in Germany Hansi had to do this *but* if he had a spine he would support his friend. They both sad there best friends and I’m sure Hansi knows very well about schaffers believes. I have nothing good to say about Hansis official statement and those week spineless ex iced earth members. Jon Rocks 🤘

@@silviobahr8556 Well American politics have a huge influence on developments concerning Germany, there's just no denying that fact. Also, didn't our wanna-be Nazis try and repeat that stunt with our Bundestag shortly after? And as far as Hansi and the Iced Earth members go? I won't condemn anyone who doesn't wanna be friends with someone who turns out to be a fascist lunatic asshole.

@@Eluarelon well I disagree, most ppl on this demonstration are normal ppl. This hase absolutely nothing to with being a racist or nazi. Some ppl just like there freedom and others watch tv with Lauterbach. As it turns out, the vaccines dosnt do shit. But anyhow Schaffer made songs about stuff like this and now he actually stood up for what he believes in. So Stu Block and the other are just little money hungry, let’s say cats.

With all due respect, this song sounds like a bunch of ideas (some cool, some less cool) without a real direction. Well, for me at least, it never really kicks off. Hansi is still amazing tho. It might grow on me.

Hi Tank, some political stuff, here. Maybe you can delete it, if you don't want it. (I only have YT to communicate it.) Metallica will give all the profit from merch, sold until end of may to children from the Ukraine. "Luba from Ukraine" has painted a picture to sell it for support. A guy from the UK has started a lottery to win a 1956 Gibson Les Paul to donate the money from that. I wanna ask you to do a reaction on the folk metal band GRAI, from Tartarstan, Russia: (They are amazing! I promise!) Not allowed to call it a war (up to 15yrs of prison, to do so), they are recently posting live gigs. Where every comment, asking for peace or supporting the Ukraine will recieve a "heart" from the band within hours. "Thumbs up" and comments will create traffic that will cause the algorithsm to suggest it to more people. Greetings from the far north of Germany!
