It is an excellent video bro. Will you be showing anything about plotting contour of mean velocity and mean Vorticity using Matlab after post proccessing? I know the questions are silly, but I'm a beginner in Matlab.

Thanks a lot for ur effort, this video is really helpful. I am using piv , How can I measure or calculate the particle size plz ?
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 3 жыл бұрын
You can calibrate your image (say by putting a ruler in your field of view) and then using that you can convert the particle size in pixel to physical size of particles.

Hey, thanks for the nice PIV videos in your channel! Thats very much appreciated! We're planning to measure flow velocities of sediments in a settling chamber. As these particle have different sizes i want to calc velocities for different size ranges. Did you do calculate particle size distribution and categorized velocity estimations with piv already and could you provide information on that or even make a video? :) thanks again!

Why do you use a laser with a wavelength between 400-500nm?
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 3 жыл бұрын
We use a visible light generally, 532 nm.

I am using piv in thermoacoustuc device oscillatory flow.The flow medium is air and smoke from insence sticks. Do u recommend me to keep using this type of smoke ?? Many thanks
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 3 жыл бұрын
Smoke is actually used, yes. So I don't see any problem. As long as there are no reactions taking place, it should be fine.

Hey, good afternoon. Do you think I can survey the velocity of the tide in situ in a lagoon by using the particles which are already flowing in the water (sand, phytoplankton etc). All the best, Ben
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 5 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea! Maybe! If the camera can distinguish then why not. But it might be tricky if sand for example is in contact with the bed too.

Hello Tanmay, thanks a lot for your explanation. Since the laser sheet is very thin, what if particles move around and couldn't be illuminated by a laser beam? Won't this affect experiment results? Thank you!
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the thickness of the laser beam plays a part. You may refer to a textbook for understanding better.

If u can answer my simple question that would be very beneficial 1. What is the size of image in mb which Is getting generated 2. Why we are not taking a video 3. Why we need synchronisation if we can just continuosly keep on the laser and just click images...no need to synchronise the camera and laser on off..?
@TanmayAgrawal7
@TanmayAgrawal7 2 жыл бұрын
1. Can't remember but you can calculate from size of image. Maybe I'd say around an MB. 2. Originally we took a video and split it into images for analysis. 3. Some lasers can't run in continuous mode with high power. They need time to do the stimulated emission, therefore you need sync.
