I agree with what ur saying. Only reason I would say to keep distrokid is exposure to new fans.

That's what Instagram, TikTok, KZbin & my fanbase is for. I made more money from just iTunes, Bandcamp & selling physicals than Spotify or Apple Music.

@@tanqueraylocc true I heard Spotify is also in 2024 if u don't make over a certain amount with stream that any money they would owe u gets distributed to higher earning labels if that is true thats fucked up.

It is true. So basically your art has to meet a quota or you get nothing for the plays you do get. I'm removing all my music from those platforms. If fans don't wanna meet me where I’m at, then they're not really fans.

@@tanqueraylocc facts 💯. I recently had a song that had some decent traffic through distrokid and the streams vs what I got paid was discouraging. It did make me think like if I got that many streams and this is what I got paid wtf.

right. My Homie @RipThaMoova has a song with almost 2,000,000 plays on DistroKid, But the payout is crumbs. It’s like what platform are those streams coming from and how much do they pay? Remember Spotify was supposed to be created for independent artists, but now they’re in bed with the Major labels, and that company is getting rich off of the underdogs and keeping us poor, with hopes of blowing up on their platform through playlists and all the other bullshit.

Sad that it's come to this but what must be done...must be done. See you on the other platform.
