found this by accident as I was looking for very elusive material from an all girl band named Tantrum playing all around the LA and Hollywood venues in the late 970 maybe 80's. They were playing at Pookies in Pasadena when I saw them last. I'm certain Laurie Bell ex Runaways was with them then but I am looking for any info, pic etc I can get. I also think they were tied in with The Orchids somehow.

Yes I am aware of the band your looking for, yes Laurie Bell was the drummer, but I there is very little if anything out there by them, trust me I have looked :(

It really does seem like sexism kept these women bands down in the late 80s/early 90s. And let's be honest, are any of them worse than Winger? Nope.

I could name a slew of bands like Winger that should not have been huge but I won't, from many interviews and such I have read, many of these bands, maybe not Tantrum have stated over and over again being told the "the one female band only rule", sadly this does still happen today.

Nothing wrong with Winger. Reb Beach is a monster player and KISS vocals are great. Yes, they're more commercial, but they get more shit than they deserve in my opinion. Nonetheless, Tantrum is a stellar band and so incredibly talented.
