Delta Dawn was written by Alex Harvey,. He was a phenomenal songwriter who also wrote hits for Kenny Rogers, Three Dog Night, Anne Murray. The song is about his mother who suffered from mental illness and committed suicide when he was twelve.

Its amazes me how just a few short yrs ago, she was so down on her luck, that she was selling everything that she Owned, -- a Harley motorcycle, , a wadrobe of all the clothes she wore on stage, &;much more, it was sad too see her like that!! 🙁 the place she lived!! & she looked terriable( I think she was still drinking) her face was badly wrinkled- up!! & it was Brandi Carlile, after seeing & hearing of Tanya's perdicament,, got hold of her to do a song with her * to get her back to on the right track Again!!! & Look. At her NOW!! Back singing again!! -- She has def, HAD a make- over, with some surgery, & her hair DID NOT turn white like that overnight!!! In her latest song/video about the old cowboy, her was NOT Snow White !!! They reallu did her up for this Preformance🤗 she looks good for bein as old as she is!!!! -- She even said in as interveiw, that the drugs & Alcohol did a toll on her body-- WOW!!would have thought she was already in the CM- HALL OF FAME!! thats CRAZY3🤪🎶🎶🎵
