Even though I’m extremely late, I’ve been watching descendants since it first started. Ben and Mal’s love is like something rare, something you’ll probably never have in reality, but at least you could enjoy it for them, like if it was real. They went through so much stuff, but they soon realized it doesn’t seem like a lot as long as they go through all the bad parts in life together. What made me really happy was seeing *Mal* say “ and I wanna be with ben, because ben makes me really happy🥹” When he heard his name the first time from that sentence his frown started to form into a smile but not all the way. Then when she said “because ben makes me really happy” that’s when you could tell that made him feel good inside, that someone really wanted him, not for his status, not for his popularity or money, just him.He loved her already so he hugged her and squeezed her tight like if he never wanted to let her go❤ But then it broke my heart really bad when he said “I love you, don’t you love me😥” and he showed her the ring,and she smiled until she realized that her happiness could no longer fill the spot of emptiness that she felt after trying to be someone she’s not. When she pushed away the ring it broke me and I could tell it broke Ben too. He truly loved her, but at that moment he knew that happiness and love he felt for her was something she tried not to feel for him😭💔

I get so many feelings from this couple unlike any other Disney channel movie or show coupe besides Alex and Mason. Mal and Ben just have such a cute, pure, and believable relationship that I just really appreciate, so much that watching this is actually hard because, paired with the music, it's just too much. The fact that Mal says ben truly makes her happy, and when they finally kissed after telling each other they love each other, it just felt more real than most Disney couples. It didn't feel overproduced or like it followed a trope. It was just natural.
