My dream is to explore Africa- how can I get the most out of Africa without having to go to an overcrowded group tour or depending on excursions? In other words, how can I plan and accomplish an independent trip as a FIRST time traveler? Please let me know, thank you!
@gitabollywoodfan50115 жыл бұрын
Wow! Tanga & Moshi are my favourite places as I have stayed in this beautiful cities 6 years each during 70's era. I returned there after 42 yrs . Was a memorable experience & loved the safari tour & Zanzibar too.

We did exactly all of those things on a private tour of Tanzania in 2014. loved it.

How much did you pay for that?
@gratitude57406 жыл бұрын
Truth Seekers if still interested, I can refer you to my friend who is organizing tours . He is a manager of the company; a knowledgeable source . I’ve been there and from my experience, the cost varies on your accommodation, from a tent to a lodge with fancy beds showers or even a pool. I picked a military size rent with a bed and portable toilets 🚽 in the tent. Restaurant was also a tent. The food was amazing and the experiences unforgettable! We would spend most of the time in the SUV exploring the plans (8 am- 6pm. ) Been there in September. Time of the year also matters . Rainy season may cause a damper on your trip .

@gratitude57406 жыл бұрын
thejokerspeaks I think you can do it . I flew into the county on credit card points .your accommodation doesn’t have to be a fancy hotel . An Airbnb costs $ 20-25/ nt. I can connect you to my friends who will give you a private tour on the same planes for much less than a tour company. Or, you can find one yourself while being there . They call themselves “ fly catchers “ we are the tourists as flies . Food cost per day is no more than $15-20. Transportation is fairly good and I expensive. A 9 hrs bus ride from Arusha to Dar Es Salaam is about$ 25. If you want to go to Zanzibar, take a 2.5 ferry ⛴. You can find an inexpensive accommodation and the cost of visiting parks is between $5-15. Hope you will realize your dreams .

I'm all ready started doing some homework for a trip and more deeply into I'm going, more getting confused and lost. Especially abaut the prices. Can you give me a clue how much it will cost me for a 10 day trip and staying in the simple tents. And also I would prefer to have private tour or at least no more then 4 passenger's in the car. Thanks 😊

So picturesque and romantic! …But had you ever had the premonition, feeling that the wild beast might charge at your jeep - vehicle?.. Attacking you?.. The sense of danger in the air… Adrenalin pumping…
@tipsfortravellers7 жыл бұрын
+Petr Frizen it is a strange sensation being so close and knowing that if you step out the vehicle that the animals have come to trust that you would be attacked is weird! I felt safe in the trucks as clearly the animals ignore them

When human and fauna worlds attain that degree of such an amicable rapport and understanding… - it is simply wonderful!
@gitabollywoodfan50115 жыл бұрын
@@tipsfortravellers I agree. We were in a situation where the lion family were in front of our car sleeping, then waking up, drinking water, looking at us & went away looking not bothered by so many safari trucks. It felt safe. It was amazing & out of this world feeling. Same with chita, it completly ignored all the safari trucks. Such a wondeful feeling & awosome to see all the animals looked so, peaceful, relaxed & not bothered about people & safari trucks around them . You just stay in the trucks & keep silence which doesn't cause any problems to animals in the safari.

Tarangire - You forgot to mention the flies (Horse, TseTse, House), mosquitos and bugs. Worst place on the planet - well, Sub-Saharan Africa anyway - IMHO. Visiting a Masaai village - not convinced that our visits do not encourage them to dress-up and dance just for us, make stuff that sells to Tourists as opposed to doing what they would normally
